Our entire veterinary, nursing, and client-care staff are qualified professionals with years of experience caring for animals and their families. They regularly attend continuing education forums and are available to provide assistance and advice on many topics including puppy training, dog and cat behavior, nutrition, and dental care.
During office hours, we are fully equipped and ready to help with all of your emergency and critical care needs. If you find that you need emergency assistance after-hours, we recommend one of the hospitals below. They are available when we are closed and we trust them for quality care! In the event you have to visit the emergency clinic we can get the records so we can follow up if your pet needs further care. For your convenience, we have included our own contact information, along with the information for our recommended after-hours emergency hospitals.
When you visit us, you will not only meet with your pet's veterinarian, you will likely come into contact with one of our highly trained Registered Veterinary Technicians. These RVTs are a vital part of the veterinary team and, after completing specific education and technical training requirements, have passed a state board exam.

Dr. Gilbert and his staff were professional, ethical, compassionate and informative and handled a delicate and very emotional situation with the utmost care and respect for our beloved dog and us as well. Dr. Gilbert is honest and his exams are thorough and he truly cares about your pets. This practice doesn't push an agenda nor does it charge for unnecessary procedures. I will be taking all of my pets to this practice for any and all veterinary needs.

Overall I haven't been very comfortable with most of the vets in Ramona. I usually went to Poway for vet care. But over the past several months I have taken my dogs to High Valley Vet. The Vets there are very good and spend the time to explain everything in detail. The only glitches have been when dispensing medications. Twice medications were incorrect dosage or medication.
I attribute that to them being extremely busy. But they worked me into busy schedules, spend more then8y enough time explaining everything. Their staff are some of the nicest people. Only place in Ramona I would take my dogs.

I have been taking my animals here for many years and the past few times have solidified that we will not be returning. They leave you parked outside for 1-2 hours after they call you and say your pet is ready for pick up. When you complain about sitting for an hour the employee says "well others have been waiting for 2 hours". I don't see this is acceptable business practice or service.
We brought our cat in for a dental cleaning at 8:30 am and was told there was one other cat to be done today and ours will be done by 12pm. 5:30pm rolls around and not only did they not call and tell us our cat was ready they left us sitting outside for way too long as well as many other people. Couldn't help but be sad for our cat because we were told to take her off food at 9pm the night before.
So she sat all day in a kennel or crate from open to close hungry, scared and most likely crying all day. And to top it off after the $500 charge for dental cleaning her teeth still look exactly the same. Finally the employee that finally brought us our cat argued with my wife when she expressed her discontent and smirked when we said we will take our business elsewhere. Don't bother bringing your animals here because it is obvious they do not care about them or you.

If you are animal rescuer find another vet. This place only caters to wealthy pet parents. If you are on a budget because you rescue many animals this is not the place for you and your fur family! Go to Rancho Bernardo Veterinary Clinic. They care and will get you in the same day if it's an urgent matter. Prices are much better over there too! You can come inside and stay with your pet the whole time. I'm so grateful that High Valley turned me and my rescue kitten away as now I have a "real" vet!

Dr. Littman and staff are professional and friendly and very reasonable. Took one of our dogs because she was coughing real bad. It started to get better before her exam but wanted to have her checked anyways and her nails trimmed. They were quick and courteous and do not push unnecessary procedures or medications. I recommend them to anyone looking for a good and affordable vet.
