Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital Cat Connection LA is a non-profit cat rescue organization. Our mission is to save the lives of abandoned, abused and neglected cats and dogs by providing shelter, care and medical treatment. We provide these services to homeless animals through rescue, adoption, adoption events, and community outreach. We also promote spay/neuter and the importance of making a lifetime commitment to companion animals.

Our goal is to help Los Angeles become a no-kill city. Three partners opened the practice in 1996, with the dream of opening a 24 hour practice that would see emergencies and do critical ongoing care, as well as do puppy and kitten care, senior care, dentistry, medicine and surgery.
Services
When did we open our doors, and why? Three partners opened the practice in 1996, with the dream of opening a 24-hour practice that would see emergencies and do critical ongoing care, as well as do puppy and kitten care, senior care, dentistry, medicine, and surgery. Two of the three partners have since gone their separate ways, leaving the practice under the leadership and direction of Dr. Laurel Leach.
We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00pm. We are here for our clients and their pets all hours of the day and this is what drives our popularity and our success. We are a family doctor. We have arranged our practice environment to be soothing and welcoming to the pet owner; we try to help them understand the possible costs of care and the potential outcomes. And we provide the best medical care that we are able to provide given the pet's condition and owner's circumstances.
Laurie Leach, Dr. Leach graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in 1984. She practiced in rural Kentucky and in suburban Virginia before moving to Sherman Oaks with her husband in 1994. Dr. Leach loves all aspects of emergency care, surgery and well-patient care.

The doctor was fairly good although I did have to wait in between each and every time they came into the room (at least 30 minutes). The older blonde lady in the front was exceptionally rude and rolled her eyes when I asked for the discount on the vaccines that they said they were gonna give me after she charged me the full amount. As she was walking to the back I heard her talking to a few of the people saying that I was complaining and she didn't see why I cared about getting a discount or not.

She an aggressively snatched the card from my hand didn't apologize didn't look at me and couldn't figure out how to correctly get a discounted percentage from the total amount. The prices were also quite overpriced and for the service I would just go to Petco at least they would have better customer service.

BEWARE OF THE FRONT DESK! When checking out today, they wanted to charge my care credit $411 and only extend it for 6 mths and being a time where I can not afford payments of such magnitude a month. When I checked out last visit they extended it for 18mths for only $250? How does that make any sense? This office goes through staff like crazy never the same person when I go in.

And it's not right to take advantage of ppl because you don't feel like paying more in fees. this is criminal and should be stopped. I'm in the healthcare field it's unacceptable to do to ppl.

Adopted my kitten Luna from Bev Oaks. Everyone there is very friendly and took great care of her. She is a bit of a handful so I appreciate their techs for being good with cats. If you have a cat, bring him/her here! Dr Leach is a cat expert!

I brought my puppy here for an emergency and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the care we received! Prices were beyond fair (and even a bit under what I was anticipating for an emergency at night on Easter Sunday). I would also like to note that Dr. Wood, the veterinarian who took care of my puppy, went above and beyond! He took the time to explain everything to me, even on unrelated matters such as what is the best dog toothpaste to eliminate plaque! Everyone here is incredible and I cannot be more grateful for them!

We brought my cat here after she had fallen. My cats dead now. It's been nearly 3 months, I'm devastated and my life is ruined. I think about her every day. The vet Dr Wood sedated her as he could no longer work on her so we brought her to another vet who the hospital recommended who was trying to undo the drugs this doctor had put on my cat. The drugs killed her.

I know not everyone can be saved but shame on this hospital. The person at the front told me my cat would survive and now she is dead not even from the injury we brought her in for. I'm 16 I've spent 4 years with her since she was a kitten I'm still not over her death it's the worst thing I've ever gone through. I don't trust this hospital.

Without getting into the specifics about my cat, I can say with certainty that without Dr Leach and the team at Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital my cat would have died a long time ago. I had previously taken him to TWO other vets who were strongly advising me to put him down immediately but I knew there was a way to save him. Dr Leach and everyone at the office provided support, care, and often times went around their own protocols, and went above in beyond in saving my cat's life. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did, one year after his diagnosis and "death sentence" he is still going strong.

Dr. Chapman and the entire team at Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital are terrific! I've taken my Jack Russell terrier and German Shepard there for years and the level of attention and care they've received each time has been great. I've had a few emergency visits as well and have appreciated the immediate attention, care and follow-up. The team is knowledgeable, caring and thorough in following up. I truly appreciate all that they do, especially during COVID! Thank you!

I love this vet office! I've been to a dozen over the past few weeks as my baby boy has developed FIP. Dr.Torres is the best veterinarian I have ever worked with and boy does she know her stuff. I feel so comfortable leaving my cat in their care, as I know they will do what needs to be done. I could rave about Bev Oaks for hours! In addition, the receptionists are so kind (which is hard to find in a vet office). They are following all CDC Covid guidelines and are helpful from start to finish.

This vet was recommended to me by a cat rescuer that I adopted my kitty from. I have been to SO many vets in LA and am usually so disappointed with their lack of care when it comes to my animals. This place is different because they give the most thorough explanation and always answer any questions that I have. I feel listened to and know that my cats are in great hands. Yes, they can be a little bit pricey, especially if you're getting X-rays or major work done, but they are very upfront with their costs before moving forward with anything. I personally think it's so worth it! And I even drive 30-40 min to make the trip because I love knowing that our cats will get the best care.

This clinic says its aim is to practice good medicine; however, their goal is to up sale you on services and products that you can find on Chewy or amazon for half the price they charge. If you are uniformed or feeling vulnerable about your pets health they will surely take advantage of you. They charged me $36.90 for a product that cost 14.00. When I asked about the price difference and the moral failure, I was told by the receptionist Kathy, " I will email your pets medical records and you can find another vet. It's more nefarious dealing that they attempted but this give consumers a good understanding of what you're in for.

I've come here a few times, both for emergency and non-emergency reasons, and each time has been a wonderful experience. Front desk staff is pleasant and genuine. I'm from the Midwest and grew up with a mom and pop like neighborhood vet, and this place has that feel for me. They seem like they really care and are very personable! I absolutely love Dr. Leach, as she has been the one I've seen each time.

She is thorough, sweet and explains everything in a way that is informative and comforting. She really has your pet's best interest at heart. Thank you for being there for my fur babies, Beverly Oaks!

Staff was professional and friendly. I am grateful they were able to accommodate me on a walk-in basis the day before my international flight when my dog developed a ear infection. I appreciate that they were over cautious in their proactive treatment.

I really appreciate finding this place especially during the pandemic. They have some of the shortest wait times for emergency care, and have been the most affordable that I've found. No matter what it's an emergency clinic so you will always wait a bit, but it's more reasonable than anywhere else around. I've brought both my dogs and cat here for a random assortment of things, anywhere from a hurt paw to weird vomit and also stitches, and they always come back to us better than they want in. Definitely recommend as your emergency vet if you live in the valley!

Beverly Oaks is an amazing hospital for your pets! My dog got surgery here and I'm so thankful to Dr. Chapman and Dr. Warren for doing such a great job. The staff here are all incredible, especially Tiffany! Tiffany was so helpful, sweet, and so caring for us and for my dog. She gave us all the proper instructions on how to take care of my dog after her surgery. You can truly tell how much she cares for animals. Thank you so much Tiffany, you're the best!

Tonight I lost the feline love of my life. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions, knowing that this day was coming- and I had taken care to prepare, as best as I could, for this moment.
Alas, the moment presented itself when my regular vet was busy with emergencies, and so even with my best laid plans, I was left to find a hospital able to help me, while feeling my absolute worst.
Beverly Oaks could not have been any more kind, gentle and thoughtful, during a time when compassion is everything.

When I called, crying and doing a very poor job of keeping it together, Tiffany told me to head right over- it was clear she knew I was having a hard time, and didn't hesitate to afford me the ability to come in. When I got there, Luis came right out to help me, led me to a room, and took my feline love to place an IV catheter. I had a few minutes to sign paperwork that Lucy prepared for me, as well as pay, so I wouldn't have to do this afterward- and when my sweet boy was brought back, he was sitting high atop a comfy blanket-looking like a king.

I was able to spend some quiet time with him, and then told Lucy in the front, that I was ready.
Dr. Torres came in and was so kind and caring. She took time to explain what she was doing and what the injections would do- and when it was all said and done, she listened to his chest one last time to make sure he was gone. The world is so unfamiliar these days, but it's clear that providing compassionate care is of the utmost importance to the people that my sweet Jerry and I encountered tonight. Thank you Beverly Oaks, you made a devastating loss, bearable- and your kindness made us feel at home.

Don't go to this Vet! Today I found an injured bird that was attacked and had its intestines hanging out. I grabbed a bucket and picked up the bird and headed to the nearest vet which happen to be this awful establishment. They wouldn't even buzz me in. This poor animal was screaming in pain and their response was they do not take care of birds. I asked can you at least put it down and take it out of its pain.

The vets response was this is a business and medicine cost money and refused to see the animal. This poor animal was in so much pain it broke my heart. I went down the block to the kind Drs and staff at Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group and they explained that the bird was dying and euthanized it. This place is bankrupt of morales and values. Please do not spend your money there.

This review is long overdue. I've had a pet rescue charity over 30 years and began working with Dr. Leach on and off close to when they opened over 20 years ago. Dr. Leach is one of the few remaining vets who still supports rescues and continues to give me a discount. She would often do surgeries for me in the middle of the night and even on no sleep she was more competent than the majority of vets I had encountered over the years.

She simplifies things and likes to get to the core of what's causing a health issue so as not to make us waste hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Plus I have seen her many nights on no sleep and have yet to witness her complaining or in a bad mood! I have bounced around to different vets over the years trying to find less expensive vets but in the end, I pay less here than all the other vets who gave discounts, misdiagnosed dogs and have taken the lives of several because of this.

Now Dr. Leach has an amazing new vet working there, Dr. Torres who called me twice today even though it was regarding a dog she had never seen. She is a doll and I look forward to working with her as well. Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital has survived the test of time and again having a charity for over 30 years and rescuing thousands of dogs, I can assure you that this is one of the best hospitals you will find and especially being an emergency hospital.

This review is for Dr Stuart (sp?). I brought my little dog in tonight for emergency care and Dr Stuart was great. He was kind and gentle with my sick and scared doggie. He made sure to explain all the possibilities of what could be wrong and carefully outlined all my options to proceed. Service was particularly quick tonight too. We were in and out in under an hour. They weren't very busy and didn't waste any time attending to my little pup. Too bad Dr Stuart isn't there too often.

My wife and I have had nothing but good experiences at this place. They are very professional and compassionate, with all four of our kitties. Out latest was a shelter rescue that required major surgery. When the first one didn't completely hold, they did a follow up surgery FOR FREE. Now, after only 6 1/2 weeks, our Mollie is almost completely healed. This is a wonderful place that cares. Dr. Leitch and Dr. Wood are great. All of the techs are also very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

I'm sorry that I don't remember his name, but I want to thank the vet who was on duty last night at around 9 PM. He was very kind and gentle to our little dachshund who was in pain. He clearly cares very much about animals and is very empathetic to them when they are in pain. They gave us medication that's already working very well. Everything was reasonably priced considering it was an after-hours visit.

I recently brought in my young dog who was running a fever and shaking terribly in the middle of the night. Dr. Wood was great with her. Eleanor is a rescue, so we don't know her background, but she doesn't open up to many males easily. Dr. Wood was very patient and had a calm demeanor. I knew that El was in good hands with him. He also had a vet tech on duty, Tiffany. El absolutely loved her.

Both Dr. Wood and Tiffany were amazing with my dog. Since there was nothing wrong with Eleanor (she was eating/drinking normal, and using the restroom normal) I was given the options of fever treatments, pricing, and suggestions of what we should do that night to take care of El. She was back to her silly self within 24 hours of treatment. I'd like to also point out that the pricing for an emergency visit was very reasonable.

These doctors are doing incredible work and taking the best care of our animals (in my case, I refer to them as my children.) Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital has my business for my dogs. Thank you Dr. Wood!

Beverly Oaks is the only place I trust with my animal emergencies! Dr. Leach is a miracle worker! She literally brings kittens back to life when it looks like all hope is gone. All the vets there are great and very compassionate. The vet techs and the front of the house staff are amazing! Laura who does a little bit of everything is irreplaceable! Thank you again for the wonderful care you have given to my sick babies! Carolyn Cody

I have never written a review before and in light of my journey these past weeks I feel compelled. Dr. Laurie Leach is among the finest veterinarians in Los Angeles County and as far as I am concerned the best ever. I first came to Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital in 1996, shortly after they opened. My cat Morris was suffering from diabetes and his former doctor was unable to regulate his insulin.

Enter Dr. Leach - she not only figured it out in one visit - she intuitive amazing care and knowledge prolonged his life for years, passing away at 21 years old. Understanding my heartbreak Dr. Leach then gifted me their young hospital cat - which was promptly named Trouble. Trouble flourished and lived a long life under Dr. Leach's steady and brilliant care.

My next cat Lucky become stressed out to the max and his already diagnosed urinary issues affecting his kidneys in a life threatening way is what brings me to write this review. Dr. Leach stepped up immediately offering to find our precious Lucky a new home and to care for him until that person met her firm requirements. She and her fabulous staff nursed him back to health and a new home was secured.

She will to continue as his doctor and maintain his good health. Dr. Leach is dedicated to the well being of each and every animal that passes through her hospital's doors, bringing intelligence, understanding, competence and a gentle soothing manner to both animals and owners. I recommend Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital - they take the very best care of our animal family! Mrs. Mitchell, Los Angeles
