I took my 9 month Labrador to Emergency last evening. Couple of days prior she vomited 2 good size rocks. Her behavior was totally out of character, with pacing and restlessness. and I though she might have another one lodge and she could be in greater distress than I realized. Yes, the wait in the parking lot was over 3 1/2 hours, but the staff came out with the paperwork and were very kind and appreciated my understanding.

I did ask if while waiting my dog went into distress could I bring her in and they said to call and they would be out. I felt comforted that at least she would not be left in a parking lot to pass. Once she was taken in the Vet Techs said it would be about 8 hours by the time the Vet actually was able to look at her and for me not to wait in the parking lot.

They would call. There were 4 other animals before ours. I received a call within 2 hours of the Vet findings and what she recommended to further search for possible rocks in her belly. I agreed to the price and yes, it was more expensive than I've ever paid for X-rays, but this was an emergency and choices are limited around here. I received a call that Annie did have a good size rock but it was already in her colon and she would pass it with 6-10 hours. The Vet and the Vet Techs were all excellent. I have absolutely no complaints. Thank you for taking care of my Annie Oakley!

The doctors and support team are wonderful caring people. Dr. Vince assisted in helping my precious boy Bennie cross the final threshold. He was terribly sick and everything was attempted but there was no hope. They all are so compassionate and understanding they helped me become involved in his passing and made everything for Bennie as comfortable as possible. Thank you all for your compassion.

X-rays were going to cost over $700. I've had X-rays done for my dog twice in the past and they've never been over $300. Vet wasn't confident he had examined the dog properly due to her large size, said it "was hard to tell." I will drive 2 hrs before ever coming back. There's plenty of other options out there. Everyone was nice enough over the phone before I came in but I'm not impressed. Also they're still using COVID procedures? You're not allowed inside with your pet.

We took our poor kitten in after an internal infection turned into a horrible sore. They were kind to us. Kitty is still going to need more care, but they were quick in an emergency situation, not overpriced, and overall kind to us.

We took our dog who was having bloody stools here and we just want to appreciate how friendly and communicative the staff was. It was expensive and the wait was long, but that's true for any emergency veterinarian (and sadly true for emergency medical attention for humans). They had a great system in place, though, where you drop your pet off and they call you with updates.

They advised us to go get some rest or grab some dinner and they'd call. So, the reports of people being told to wait in the parking lot are (seemingly) false. They took care of our pup and did so with complete sympathy. The vet also did not proceed with treatment until calling and getting our approval. I would encourage people who may have interacted with an unfriendly vet tech to remember that they are seeing the worst of the worst 24 hours, 7 days a week.

There will be compassion fatigue there. So, please remember they are human and see tragic pet illnesses/injuries as well as heartbroken pet owners on a daily basis. With that being said, two days later and our pup is full of energy and having normal stools!

My cat had an infection after a fight with one of my other cats. My regular vet couldn't see her for over a week and I knew she needed to be seen right away because I could smell the infection. The staff here was great and the pricing was reasonable concidering it's a 24hr emergency vet. My cat was fixed up and the end cost was under what they quoted me.

Of course YMMV. They were super busy. I watched them bringing animals in and out the whole time I was there. I should mention that at the time of my visit they weren't letting anyone inside the building. Not sure if this was related to COVID or it's how they always operate. Just be prepared. From the time I dropped her off to the time I picked her up was roughly 6hrs. Still highly recommended for an emergency vet.

I am so horrible with names, and although I would love to name off everyone that helped me, it doesn't fully matter as every single staff member that I've spoken to the past week has been more than helpful. My kitty Edgar has had on and off again troubles with his urinary system and on Monday I had to take him into their care where they called with updates throughout the hours and let me know how loving and friendly he was being and how much the staff adored him there.

After being made aware from the docs that he needed a urinary stone removed, I was forced to face many difficult decisions as I already spent a considerable amount at the start of the week to flush out his system, and so I decided to wait it out. Come the end of the week, he cannot pee again, I had to put my pride aside and ask for help from loved ones and round up as much money as I could for another hefty bill for his surgery.

During the call with one of the docs, he made me aware of my options and even asked for my thoughts and opinions to be sure that I wasn't going to go through with something I couldn't afford. I was told that no payment plans were accepted but that they would try to keep the costs as low as possible as I revealed how difficult the money situation was after already spending plenty at the beginning of the week.

I get a call that night after dropping him off and letting them know that they can go through with the surgery that the surgery was successful and Ed was doing great. He told me that one of the procedures was to send the urinary stone to a lab and instead of sending it somewhere that would cost another $300-400, they would send it to a university for about $50.

These little things really made a big difference to me. I was crying that night before the call trying to figure out how I would come up with another $2k for the morning when I would go to pick him up and instead was pleasantly surprised that the final cost after my downpayment was less than a thousand. The amount of money I spent for my kitty this week was horrific but I couldn't have asked for a better staff to give my money to.

There is no cost that would hold me back from saving my kitty although I faced very heart-wrenching thoughts of having to give him away due to lack of funds. I am so grateful for bringing him to the most enthusiastic and big-hearted people Reno has to offer. I was told countless times that Edgar is a trooper and he has been an amazing kitty to have in their care, to which Eddy and I would wholeheartedly agree that the staff of this pet hospital are the best of the best. THANK YOU!

I really appreciated the time and extent of effort they gave me. But something was just off the whole time. This was my first pet ever, and it so happened to be my last too. I wish they could have asked me along the multiple bombarding questions or assumed that it was my first pet before I was hit with attitudes by both a nurse and the Vet doc. I truly didn't know what to do so I had no choice but to drop a load to put down my sweet baby.

I wish the experience was a bit less stressful than it was. Save your time and money before coming here. This place should be a last resort for everyone. Theres a lot better ER & clinics that could give you more and better options.

I would leave negative stars if I could. We brought our Great Dane in after a full 24 hours of non stop vomiting, drove an hour to get told it would be 4-5 hour wait. They are only doing curbside services, we weren't allowed inside at all. It took two hours for anyone to even come look at him before they finally too him only to tell us he's severely dehydrated.

He was given fluids and we were told his kidneys were in distress for seemingly no reason. After staying the night he was sent home with us, after being told by staff "maybe he'll improve at home" he was worse off than when we had taken him in. We were sent home with no extra care, no pain meds for him, nothing. He did not make it through the night.

Our house was seven hours of complete agony as we had to listen to our poor baby cry until he passed. We live an hour from any other options and did not want to put him through another car ride to be terrified again, he's always been petrified of the vet. We paid $2458 for them to give him fluids and no diagnosis, I would never have trusted them if I'd known they would let him suffer like that.

A 6-week old puppy got bitten. I was happy that they saved her eye. We paid $1,500+ and waited for over an hour, outside for her to be seen. It was cold. When they brought her out, it was freezing temps; they didn't wrap her in a blanket; she was shivering. We weren't told when to remove the bandage or cone. Also, the cone was too large and there was no string holding it so it fell off.

I called back to get clarity about the bandage and cone. The nurse was curt. She said our puppy needed a CT to determine if surgery was needed, however, there was no swelling of the brain, no internal bleeding, and puppy was acting her normal energetic self. The fractures were not impacting her ability to eat, or function, as the location was the top of the skull.

We were told they were puncture wounds and she would heal in 6-8 weeks. We didn't have $2,500 and felt based on everything, it wasn't necessary, but considered the "gold standard". The nurse didn't treat us well because of not having the money for the CT. I'm both thankful, but also encourage them to work on bedside manners. It was a tough night.

Doctor was very thorough. I don't know how they work all night as I too was up all night worrying. Tech was friendly. Very knowledgeable and saved our fur baby. Wish I could use as my regular vet.

I have now come to this emergency animal service place twice, and this is the second time I have left having to go somewhere else because they don't have the proper machines. The first time my dog was attacked and had a tongue laceration and had to have teeth removed. They apparently didn't have an x ray machine to see if there were tooth fragments remaining, so I had to take him in for a SECOND surgery to remove those fragments.

Second surgery cost was $2,000. First surgery cost was $1000. The second time I went in because I knew my dog was having back pain, and given his breed as a french bulldog it is not uncommon to have disk or c spine problems. Knowing this I called ahead of time to make sure that they had all the proper machinery before we took him there given out last experience. Whoever answered the phone responded yes we do - fast forward 4 hours later they called me saying they actually don't have the machine and that he would have to go to Sierra Veterinarian Center.

They charged me of course. And now I have to drive to Sierra center and re pay all the fees for a second tome today. Save your MONEY and TIME and go to a real emergency vet clinic.

The drop off experience was good, not great. They were somewhat friendly and receptive to my pets needs. After my cat was examined I was told my cat would need stitches and antibiotics. The verbal quote was $300. After I received the call to pick her up I was left waiting outside for over 45 minutes until I could get someone give me the invoice. When I could get someone to answer the phone I was given a verbal invoice for $603.00 (over double the cost I was told even after they saw my cat and had a game plan for service) I asked to see the invoice to verify pricing.

Form there I waited another 20 minutes outside. Once I was able to meet with someone I was greeted with a harsh attitude and told that my only choices were to pay the balance without questions or to not get my cat back. I was offered no friendly or professional communication on the matter of the bill. After realizing I had no other option to not loose our family pet, I gave a credit card to the woman.

Form there, I waited another 20 minutes and when I asked if my card went through as I was unsure if I had that kind of money at that time, I was told " I'm busy and will get it to you soon". At this point I was very emotional because of my cat and also being financially unstable. She finally brought me my card, offered no words of kindness, and then took another 20+minutes to bring my cat out to me.

The amount of follow up care information was little to none. For the amount they charge it would be nice to have a conversation about what I should be doing at home. That was completely let non existent. I do understand that they are busy and working with a lot of stressful situations, but I don't feel that they should loose there humanity along the way or treat people in a troubling situation with such disregard.

The entire staff was ready and willing to help. My dog had to have fluid drained that was around her heart and they were very upfront of what needed to happen and helped right away. Within a week my dog passed and they were right there to help me put her out of pain. I could not be more grateful for the compassion from the staff. My primary vet would not even make time for me and they took above and beyond great care. Love this place!

I can't say enough about how great they have been here. My puppy had eaten Foreign body again! Dr. Atkinson was very professional explained every detail. The vet at discharge was also amazing! It was a little pricey but they took really good care of my dog and we're very thorough. I had to bring her back again because she had a lump under her incision. Dr. Dell was awesome and again thorough and explained everything. Hopefully we won't have any trips back here again but I know I can always rely on them to take good care of my animals! The staff was amazing too!

I'm not sure why people rated this place with one star. The vet assistant McKenzie and Dr. Bell were great with my Pippa and with us. They both were very caring and Dr. Bell was very good st explaining everything. Yes my Pippa passed but she was very sick. I recommend this place to anyone and I recommend Dr. Bell.

My dog was kicked by a horse. I called in to let them know I was coming. When I got there they were at max capacity, which is expected at a small animal emergency vet. Because they saw the severity and I gave them warning they were able to see and treat my dog in good time. All the staff were compassionate and DR. Vega was very thorough, answered all of my questions, and made sure my dog was comfortable. Duffy is now home and as comfortable as he can be. Thank you to every staff member for taking care of my dog! You all are so needed and I can't express my gratitude enough.

I brought my dog in with vague symptoms and a gut feeling that something was wrong. These folks took me seriously, evaluated him, and instead of the 4 hour wait I had been told to expect, he was immediately taken in - a simultaneously gratifying and alarming thing to have happen; you never want your dog to be at the front of the line in any triage situation.

A few hours later, he was in emergency surgery to retrieve an 18 long compression sock. The communication from the vet and their dedicated staff was frequent and reassuring. He came through the surgery with flying colors and after an overnight stay, I was able to bring him home this morning. It's obvious that they truly cared about him and he stopped to give a rare kiss to the tech.

There's no doubt in my mind that had care been delayed, I would've lost him. 2020 has been an enormously stressful time for everyone, including our veterinary professionals. Being the only emergency vet in the area has to have been extraordinarily challenging and exhausting. Yet these people have been able to maintain a high standard of care and excellence in customer service despite the circumstances. They were there when I needed them and I am forever grateful! Thank you for saving my dog's life!

We brought our Moses in late in the day after wasting time at another emergency vet. Thankfully these kind people got him in within 30 minutes. They brought out a gurney because it was so painful for him to walk. We were assured they would help with his pain and told us to go ahead and go home the vet would call us as soon as possible. We thought he had hurt his ribs or leg, there was swelling behind his right shoulder and moving caused him to scream. The vet called us a short time later and explained they had given him something for the pain and he was resting.

We authorized tests because the xrays showed no broken bones. The next morning the swelling had spread down his side and into his front leg. They put a fentanyl patch on him to help with the pain and made him as comfortable as possible. The last phone call was to tell us he had a cancerous tumor that had ruptured and was bleeding out. There was no other option but to let him go.

They let us take him for one last walk and spend time with him and allowed us in when they put him to rest. It was all so fast but, the vets worked hard to find out what was wrong and, as always did an amazing job. They saved his life eleven years ago when he got parvo virus and tried just as hard this time. We can't thank these dedicated people who work so hard to help our furry family members. The best emergency vet we've ever used. Thank you for trying to save our Moses, he was a great dog and we had eleven great years with him thanks to your dedication.

These kind individuals have taken such wonderful care of our fur child. They have called us every step of the way with our female dogs care. She was in an unfortunate accident and they have stepped up and saved her. They are and have been amazing. Their staff is informative and they do not give you an attitude when you call to check in on your loved one multiple times. I appreciate their time very much. Highly Recommend. Thank you to their entire staff!
