Dr. Terry Tomlin and his wife Heidi founded Town & Country Veterinarians in 1989 as one of Gainesville's first house-call practices. The doors of Town & Country Veterinarians and Pet Resort's first animal hospital opened in November of 1990 and moved into its new facility in September of 2009. As a University of Florida graduate, Dr. Tomlin's philosophy of "Best Medicine" and "Well-Care" began to evolve while he was a veterinary student. He realized that keeping pets healthy allowed for longer and happier lives and strengthened the human-animal bond.

Most pets cannot tell us when they need to go to the veterinarian. Often, they conceal an illness or pain, making regular examinations vital to good health. Unless you know what to look for, the symptoms of an illness can be difficult to detect. I can tell that they care about my dog Ellie. I also love the convenience of parking, having a technician picking her up for her blood work, and bringing her back so hubby can go back to work as soon as possible. Ellie is now being treated by UF vet oncology but we will also be taking her to Town and Country to have her blood samples because of how convenient it is. Dr Howard is also really nice with her and explains all her health situations with patience! And we are really glad Dr Grand was able to detect her cancer so we can treat her.

Quite literally the friendliest staff I've ever experienced from any business. I have an older rescue who has some behavioral issues and they are always so sweet and patient with him. Also have a new pup going through her puppy series at the moment and Dr. Howard is amazing with her and answers all of my questions with care. The vet techs are phenomenal and you can tell they love their jobs. Bianca is amazing! Planning on utilizing their stay & train services with Lora soon :

I needed my pet to be seen before the weekend and Town & Country Veterinarians was able to see my pet that day. The staff are incredibly kind and patient. They are enthusiastic and love on my pet each visit. Dr. Moser took the time to thoroughly explain my pet's plan of treatment and answered all of my questions. The tech Tabby(sp?) was efficient and took excellent care of my Lady. Thank you for providing comfort and excellent care during a stressful time for me!

Tyler, Alyssa, and Amber were great techs to work with. I really appreciate Dr. Tomlin for giving us options and for taking care of Jafar, one of our guinea pig herd. I will definitely be coming back if we have any more issues with him or anyone else. It's very hard to find a vet who sees pocket pets anymore.

I have always been treated with respect and care for my pets. Dr. Tomlin is great with our Bearded Dragon Vena. He has helped her through some respiratory infections and always showed concern for her well being. Our doggos have been well treated and I always leave feeling like the staff has done their best to care for our pets.
