Animal Health & Healing - Teresa Garden Animal Health & Healing is a full service integrative veterinary practice blending holistic and conventional medicine and surgery to optimize the health of our patients. A holistic approach looks at the entire life of the patient. This includes not only current symptoms of illness, but also environment, diet, lifestyle, previous medical problems, behavioral problems, and other stressors.

The approach of holistic medicine is to heal the whole pet physically and emotionally. This differs from conventional western medicine which concentrates on suppressing symptoms of illness.

I was looking forward to getting real insights when it comes to digestive system of my dog, supplement recommendations etc. instead, I got reference to two websites to work with and make a selection myself. Other than that the doctor and stuff were nice. We were treated well.

Dr. Snodgrass and her team are amazing. We are thankful we finally found a compassionate vet. They are holistic, thorough, patient, and kind.

Dr Snodgrass, Karen and Deborah were the best I could hope for my dog. They took good care of him since he was a little pup with lots of compassion. Always made sure the dog was healthy and in a good mood. Always took the time to answer my questions and support me as his caretaker anytime I called them for help.

Although I wasn't able to afford all the services they were recommending the information they provided over the phone was well worth the phone call. I don't remember the young women's name that I spoke to but she was very kind and knowledgeable and more than helpful with the issues that I'm having with my dog.

I can't recommend highly enough. After bad experiences elsewhere, I was thrilled to find Animal Health and Healing. They have helped with my dog's allergies and my cat's arthritis. And they all seem to genuinely care! My cat never wants to leave (and this last visit- she jumped over the counter and laid down on their desk). While it can be pricey, it's absolutely worth every penny.

For example: at our previous vet, when asking about my cat's hips and potential arthritis, I was told that she was "an old cat". Animal Health and Healing was a totally different story. They gave her a full examination, and made diet change recommendations, along w some joint suppliments, and within weeks, my cat was was not only walking better, but running up stairs (something she hadn't done in over a year).

This vet clinic is without a doubt the best in St. Louis. We (my dachshund and I) have visited several vets in the area over the past 2 years trying to find one that fits my desire for a more holistic approach to some health issues my doxie was having while also showing compassion. Dr Garden and Dr. Snodgrass and the sweet techs have gone above and beyond time and time again. Deb, one of the techs, is amazing with my pup, and I swear she's the reason he now walks into the vet's office like it's no big deal--something he'd never done at any other vet. If you take your pet here, you will not be disappointed.

It took me a while to be able to write this. In October 2018 my sweet girl was diagnosed with cancer. My vet sent me to a specialist in west county who told me she was inoperable and she probably had about 2 months to live. I then took her to the University of Illinois vet center. They did a full body scan and said there were to many tumors to operate and I could try Kemo. Holly had one dose and was sick for 4 days.

I decided not to make her suffer. Then I began searching for other alternatives to keep her comfortable. When I went to Animal Health and Healing I finally found someone willing to help. I was given recipes to cook meals for her as well as some herbs and ideas to keep her comfortable. To make a long story short in June of 2019 she was doing so well I decided to have her scanned again.

Our vet was surprised to see the cancer had not grown. She had lost weight and was jumping on our bed again. At the end of September 2019 I came home and she was having trouble breathing and standing. The next morning I made the hardest decision of my life and let Holly go to Rainbow Bridge. I will always feel indebted to these loving people who allowed me to spend another year with my best friend. Thank you for your love and dedication to animals.

Dr. Garden took GREAT care of my dog while I lived in St. Louis! She treated her for many different puppy conditions and also did her spay and all of her care was excellent. She took great care of her and I always felt my pup was safe in her hands. I absolutely recommend them!
