The idea of pain management for humans is not a new concept. We understand when we hurt and where it hurts and we look to professionals to help us ease the pain. But when we are dealing with our pets in pain, finding out what causes the pain and how to help them gets a little more complicated. At the Center for Veterinary Pain Management and Rehabilitation, Dr. Rick Wall, Board Certified in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. We will aggressively address your pet's pain or disability with pharmaceutical therapies, physical medicine, and techniques in physical rehabilitation.

We are a veterinary pain management & rehabilitation facility located in The Woodlands, TX. We are an elite veterinary practice whose greatest commodity is hope. We partner with veterinarians and also help our clients directly. Our clients come to us with pets that have had surgeries, but are still limp.
More and more dogs are participating in sports of all sorts, and associated injuries are common. When we think of sports for dogs, we usually think of greyhounds for racing and coursing or luring, field trial dogs for hunting, or even sled dogs in the Iditarod. But within the last 10 years or so, other sports have been gaining in popularity, including agility, flyball, disk dog competitions (Frisbee catching), tracking for search and rescue, dock jumping, and earthdog den trials. With sporting dogs, just as with working dogs, preventive examinations should be as much a part of their training as the actual practice of their sport.
Whether you were referred to us by your veterinarian or have found us on your own, we welcome you and your pet to the Center for Veterinary Pain Management and Rehabilitation. Before getting treatment at our center, ask your veterinarian about rehabilitation for your pet. While we don't require a veterinarian's referral, a written referral is very helpful in evaluating the problem and determining the right treatment. We like to work closely with you and your veterinarian to identify and treat the pain or mobility issues your pet faces.
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) is a painful condition that results from the presence of sensitive areas within the muscles, referred to as myofascial trigger points (MTrP). Primary MPS, which usually occurs in an athletic dog, is caused by some type of injury. Secondary MPS is related to overuse or overloading of muscles that are working harder to compensate for a disease or injury. We usually see secondary MPS as a complication of such problems such as osteoarthritis, orthopedic injury, or neurologic injury.

My Max, a german shepherd, was stricken with DM. The kind folks here helped extend his life by keeping him physically active as long as God body let him (in a gentle way). I'm thankful for the extra time I had with him before i had to put him down. The Doctor and all of the staff here are super kind and committed.

I have seen Dr. Wall and his staff do amazing things here at the Center For Veterinary Pain Management and Rehabilitation. They treat each of their patients with love, care and respect, and work closely with the owners by providing instructions on how to provide help for their pets at home. I will recommend this facility for veterinary pain management and rehabilitation without hesitation.
