Services
In the beginning, it was a simple vision. Dr. Clara Scott, owner and veterinarian of My Family Vet, started this journey with a vision of a veterinary practice that encompassed excellent patient care with a compassionate and personable experience. She took a leap of faith and began to practice out of the front room in her own home.
Here at My Family Vet, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice in Spring. We know you will be very happy with our services. Our veterinarians and staff are devoted to staying on top of the latest diagnostics, treatments, and wellness programs to maintain your pet's optimal health.
As a new client of our Animal Hospital in Spring, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
According to the AVMA Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics, no doctor can prescribe medication or fill medication to a patient outside of the Veterinarian-Client-Patient-Relationship. To ethically and legally prescribe meds to your pet, your veterinarian has to maintain that relationship and see the pet at least once annually.

Yesterday I came in asking if I could get my kitten squeezed in to be looked at because he is was very bloated and wouldn't move and I asked them if worms will cause that and they said yes in most cases and I still continued to ask them if they could still squeeze me in I've had issues the past few days my baby is sick and they told me no that if I did want to get seen it's a 100$ fee for emergency I'm not a vet so I don't know what's urgent and I told them I don't have that kind of money I think it doesn't matter how much if someone knew my baby was sick they could of worked something out for me they could have taken 5 seconds to look at my baby boy to make sure he was okay but instead he's dead and died the same day a few hours later I've got papers of his cremation and times he stopped breathing and had green stuff coming out of his mouth it was a very traumatizing situation I had to cancel my doctors appointment for today at 9:15 because he is no longer with us at that moment when my cat was still alive and I brought him in he could still be alive Rest In Peace baby boy I love you mommy sorry no one has space for an appointment and no one would help me with money situations this is very very sad

I really appreciate how they treat my dogs here. They love on them, they pet them, its nice. its nice to make it feel so comfortable rather than a vet place. They give you options on treatments and never pressure you to do anything. I highly suggest you to take your pets here. They are great, its a wonderful place

I have left reviews through their website saying how much I trusted them with my pet and prices. That stopped this last time. I have noticed the local social media sites complaining about "outraged prices" pretty much price gouging. You can see from my quote and my bill the almost $100 difference for 2 baby canines pulled. She was the same weight.
Some friends at church asked about her this weekend. They also felt disturbed by the price gouge from February 22 to April 11 when we got her in for her appointment. Unfortunately they are disturbed by that as many are. They don't feel they are trust worthy to bring their pets to. One with three big dogs. They felt bad for giving me bad advice to take my pets there. and plan to change as well.
The day that happened I confronted and they said the medicine prices went up. Almost $100 price rise over baby teeth that still could have fell out. So disappointing. I do not recommend.

This vet clinic is inconsiderate, they made the very difficult situation of putting down a beloved pet a lot worse & stressful than it should have been. I had been going to them for over a year for routine vet care and was very satisfied with them up to that point but they failed me and my pet miserably during the most stressful and heartbreaking day of a pet owners life, if they can't handle this how could I ever expect them to be competent during an actual emergency? They are fine for routine vaccinations with an appointment but anything beyond that or out of the ordinary you need to go elsewhere.

We had Titan for 15 yrs and my family vet is the only vet I ever took him too. We had to put him down a few months ago and they were so helpful. We showed up carrying him out cause he couldn't walk any more. We laid him out front in the sun. They came out to us and asked if we would like to do the procedure out side, cause he seemed happy out laying in the sun.
Plus we didn't want him to get nervous knowing we were at the vet. They didn't rush anything they gave us our time with him. Me my daughter and husband was able to say our last words letting him know we loved him. We did get another dog and he will be going to my family vet. They are the only vet we trust with our fur babies. Thank all of yall for the time yall gave us. In my opinion best vet around, and we drive 40 mins to get there.

My Family Vet did a great job during the most difficult time our family was going through. I highly recommend them to help you take care of your pet. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to our family dog after 14 years. They provided a family room to be with her as she passed. It was peaceful and comforting. Thank you to the staff and doctor for helping us say goodbye to her in a loving environment.

Dr. Hendrix was absolutely amazing, kind and helpful. We just got two new puppies and he helped me understand what to look for and what to do to keep them healthy. Sadly he's only at our location on Mondays but we are totally okay with going solely on a Monday if it means he gets to help us take care of our babies! Also, as a plus, Sophia and Pebbles adore him.
The staff is excellent and kind as well! Finally, I love that they don't push you into unnecessary tests and treatments or medications simply to make a buck. It's all about what is truly needed and how comfortable you are with them. This is what matters the most to me as our previous vet would administer medicine without asking or telling us what it was just so that they could charge us. They don't do that at My Family Vet and I am super pumped about it!

I don't even know where to begin! My dog had a tumor removed from his ear at another vet. 10 days later I brought him back to get his stitches removed. 3 stitches for a giant wound. It popped right open. And there's nothing they can apparently do except for just let it breathe and heal and put a cone on. I spent my Christmas in tears searching for an emergency room that wasn't a 10 hour wait as blood dripped down my dog all day.
Off and on we tried to bandage him and stop the bleeding but for several days it just wouldn't stick. And they went above and beyond and even though they were busy let me drop him off and took amazing care of him. They were constantly keeping in touch and doing everything they could. Within 24 hours he was healing, the wound was half the size, and he was back to his normal! I can't thank them enough

By far the best vet I have ever been to! The love and compassion they show to their families is wonderful! They helped me save a kitten, taken my dog in for emergency surgery, and showed nothing but patience and kindness when I had to say goodbye to my 18 year old cat. I will be forever grateful to My Family Vet.

I have been using My Family Vet for over 15 years for my animals and have loved them. Recently things have changed and it forced me to find a new Vet Clinic. 1. It is extremely difficult to speak to someone live. I called several times and no one answered. The recording says to text them and you get a text after you call telling you to text them. After texting back and forth several times with no resolution, I was frustrated and said I just want to speak to someone live.
They then called me. It took over 10 minutes to make an appointment that should have only taken 1 to 2 minutes over the phone. 2. They will not see two dogs at the same time or right after each other. Both of my small dogs are having skin allergies and the vet would not schedule an appointment for both or allow me to schedule one after the other. She said that Dr. Scott does not allow them to schedule that way.
I could schedule one in the morning and one in the afternoon or both on different days. That is extremely inconvenient! I have to take off a full day or 2 half days just to take my dogs to the vet. I called another vet nearby and they answered the phone and made an appointment for both dogs at the same time, in less than 5 minutes. And they took all our info since we were new to them. Wow! I canceled my appointments with My Family Vet and will not be returning.

Had a really good time. All staff is very nice and makes me feel like I can really trust them with my kitten. I really appreciate how they did the vaccines in front of me. Usually at other vet clinics they take the cats away from me giving both my cat and me anxiety. I am definitely coming back and I will bring my older cat as well.

I love taking our French Bulldog, Tugg, to My Family Vet. Not only are the girls at the front so friendly like Charlie, Jose and others (if I could name everyone of the front girls, I would genuinely do so as Tugg would definitely want me to!) I adore Dr. Chan too because she shows genuine care for Tugg - and she is familiar and knowledgeable with the special needs of his breed - which that alone is a definite plus-plus!
Since coming home with us, Tugg has been a special boy and we have been to My Family Vet on what seemed to be a weekly basis. Instead of becoming aggravated at us constantly having more appointments and new question after new question. Dr. Chan listened and made sure to touch on each issue or concern. Everyone provides compassionate care and individual attention to Tugg - to where even he loves to come there! My Family Vet is exactly who you need to make sure your special family members are given the best in Veternary care.

I have been going to Dr. Scott and her wonderful team of doctors for over 15 years. They have lovingly cared for our dogs (all rescues) at all stages of their lives from puppyhood until the time when we have to help them over the rainbow bridge. They sat with us and prayed over us as we said goodbye to our furry family members. I drive over an hour to get to their location, but it is well worth it.

I was really shocked to see all the negative comments for this practice! I have lived in Spring for two years and take my dogs here. Sure, I have had to wait sometimes, but if someone else's baby needs serious help, I am happy to wait! The staff are always so kind and caring, and they get right to the issue and solutions. My Buddy is on daily medications and they are always quick to have his meds ready when I call for refills. I know I am going to have to make the decision, probably soon to put him to rest, and I am confident that we will be treated with respect and care when we do.

This place is nice and the staff is very friendly. The prices are decent also. It just feels like a friendly/warming environment when you walk in. They have this candle setup at the main entrance which is a very heartwarming gesture. I have been there twice with one of my cats about him bending his ear and patting at it and having irritation there.
They said it wasn't an infection and it wasn't mites. They gave me 3 solutions to fix it and none of them worked so far. It's kind of a bummer but I'm not giving up yet. I'd recommend this place though. You have to expect sometimes a diagnosis can be difficult. Especially on an animal that can't talk. The rooms are nice and have no places that animals can get into and hide. Which is a big plus when you have cats!

This was a most unpleasant experience. I rescued a boxer and was required to get him chipped and they wanted a fecal sample for testing for heart worms I assume. When you pull into the parking lot the signs in front of the bay say to text and they will get to you quickly. After :20 I text again asking for directions because I was witnessing customers walking in with their animals.
I was told to come in. They took me to a room and left me in there for another :40. A tech then came in and asked if he had been weighed or if we had been gone through the preliminary interview for new animals, which I had not. Remember this is a brand new rescue. He is unfamiliar with me and is anxious because the scent is of a vet. The tech went to find a wand to see if he was chipped.
She came in and started waiving this wand and he was not comfortable with that and after giving sign of his discomfort he snapped at her wand. She left and reported the action to the staff. After another :40 (1:40 after arriving) the vet came in with a tech and bowl of slop they called treats. They were already on alert but failed to adequately introduce themselves and equipment to the dog.
When they tried to distract him from what was going on with the slop he again, showed sign of discomfort with the touch of the stethoscope and then put his mouth on the vets hand. He did not bite down. They then recommended he be seen by a pet psychiatrist. Nice. Will not be using this place ever. They do not consider my time nor my dogs time and his anxiety from waiting and not being seen.
I will say before the vet came into the room I stood outside the door of the room and a tech and vet walked past without acknowledging me at all. I am not small and they did not miss me standing outside the door with my hand inside obviously holding a leash. The answer is not a psychiatrist it is being situationally aware and approaching new animals differently. Needless to say absolutely nothing was accomplished. Now I will take my dog elsewhere to be seen and implanted with a chip. Unpleasant and unprofessional experience!

DON'T GO HERE! If I could assign zero stars, I would. This has been nothing less than a 3-year customer service NIGHTMARE. I only stayed a customer for that long because the location is so close to home, but honestly, no convenience can make up for this place. Hopefully this review can save someone else from a terrible experience.

This was not my preferred vet but now they will be forever moving forward. My 1 year old pug started having seizures. I took her to my vet where they didn't take me seriously. We took her here and they determined she needed treatment immediately. They saved her life! And for them, surgery was the last resort and let's get started on how amazing the cost was. They were half the price of my vet and cared 100 times more. We found our people and are so grateful.

I'm back reviewing this place and now they've gone too far. We took our 4 month old puppy in in October for her new puppy shots, a package every vet I've ever dealt with provides. To our own fault, we didn't realize that the new puppy package here does not include rabies! They, apparently, sabe that for another visit. I've never heard of this in my life and yesterday, while trying to pull records at Petsmart to get her nails trimmed, we realize that it wasn't part of her initial vacs.
This is after 8 phone calls trying to clarify what, in any normal person's mind, must be a mistake. So we go through the grossly misguided and extremely irritating call and get a text back routine only to keep getting the same, "sorry we missed your call, please text us with concerns", response to every text. I finally take my girlfriend's phone and say, "we need a PHONE CALL NOW". Finally, after waiting, we receive a phone call and after explaining I think it's a mistake, I blatantly tell the receptionist that I think they should be ashamed of how they now handle customers and patients and that it's absolutely pathetic!
I make a point to tell them this is why they receive more negative reviews than ever before and why we, and others, have since gone to other vets. That this place has become not about the safety and security of our loved ones but more a cash register for the owners. So now fast forward and let's talk about the real screw up. Dr. Clara Scott had the audacity to call my girlfriend's PLACE OF BUSINESS and leave a message that I was verbally abusive to the receptionist, that she knows she works for the community and she does too, and that it was "pretty scary actually" and that she'd like to talk about it.
She didn't call her cell phone, which is the main number on the account. She searched for her business number and went out of her way to include them. It was scary that I told them the truth? It was abusive to tell them to be ashamed? And then to, basically, threaten her and leave a message with her place of employment? That is totally unacceptable, totally inappropriate, and slanderous.
These people have lost their minds and we have no intentions of ending this with simply a bad yelp review. I concur with a recent review from someone else on yelp. You, ma'am, ARE a liar and now a slanderous one! Update: These are again all lies. My girlfriend is a professional and her mailbox is absolutely set up. Also, she is new with this company and since we had already found new vet care, this vet does not have her work number on file. It was clearly looked for.

Been coming here for a while now. For the most part, the majority of the techs and doctors are really friendly and informative. You will have a handful of techs who seem annoyed sometimes. The prices for certain procedures are reasonable, just ensure you review your invoice prior to paying. My dogs dental cleaning went as smoothly as possible; I was shocked and very pleased with the results! Would recommend this vet clinic to others as we are satisfied and pleased whenever we come here for our pet's needs.

I was told a radiologist will take a look at my dogs x-rays and I never received a call. I've been trying to contact someone to either receive a credit or have the doctor call me and no one has helped me, just make sure you get what you're paying for I'm very disappointed because this vet used to be better.

I absolutely love and respect Dr. Scott, the owner of My Family Vet. She is a wonderful and caring vet. Unfortunately, she is only seeing surgical patients now. At our recent visit, my dogs were not able to see her. The other vets are ok. Just okay. I was told our combined appointment would be 30 minutes. We were there for 90 minutes.much of that time spent waiting. I have seen Dr Scott for 15 years. I am disappointed in the changes at her office.

Way to expensive Owner more interested in expanding and making money then really helping people with animals with life long issues. Believe they have really lost site of what's most important, saving animals lives. My dog has Addison's disease and requires an shot once a month for the rest of her life, when I can order medication with a prescription online the doctor/Owner refused to give me a prescription and said I would have to come every month and pay $100 or other option they would charge me for the prescription at 100% over what I could get it online for, then charge me a fee every month to have injections. Called several other vets they said it would be no problem to give me a prescription to buy myself.
Besides the fact when I had got my vet records from them they had information mixed up for my dogs we have two. Expect to pay around $500.00 for two dogs annual exams NOT worth the money! Look elsewhere

Everyone is always so friendly, very helpful and they always make my GS feel comfortable. Very knowledgeable and they take great care of him. A very relaxing atmosphere which is great because my GS gets very anxious. Even though he doesn't like being there, they make him feel loved and cared for, which I love the most. I highly recommend My Family Vet, excellent care, great staff and Physicians.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE! Worst service ever! They say they treat your animals like family but over charge you for products you do not need. The vet even injected my puppy with two shots before telling me what they were, and not to mention they weren't needed, and I paid double the price for it! I knew my dog had worms but it was to early to find in his feces, they still insisted they look which was another 40$ charge that wasn't needed because they didn't find anything, now a month and a half later I find adult round worms in my dogs Feces.
This is very upsetting because I did my part as a responsible dog owner and they failed to do their jobs and give my dog treatment, after talking to the manager CAT I was mislead to think the dewormer would be free, I drove 30 minutes just to have to pay 40$, again for something I could have paid 10$/20$ for anywhere else. If it was heart worm or something more serous, they would be hearing from my lawyer not me. 10/10 worst place you can bring your pet too, they are money hungry and don't care about you or your pet. I truly can't believe people can do this during a pandemic to hard working people like myself.

I love the setting of this clinic. It's relatively convenient for scheduling and getting in quickly. It can often take a long time to check out though. The vets here seem good, but I don't think they take the time to listen to the pet owners. The main thing here is overpricing. Every visit has been VERY expensive, and I always end up asking them to take off the hundreds of dollars extra added for "additional services." They seem to market to sell here.

I'm so glad someone recommended My Family Vet to us when we moved to Texas! One of our dogs developed welts all over her belly on a Saturday. The vet closes as 12pm on Saturdays so I was worried we wouldn't get in from past experiences at other vets. I called around 9:30am and they said they were fully booked but we could come in and wait 2-3 hours (which would still be after they were supposed to be closed) to see a vet.
I went in and maybe had to wait 30 minutes, if that, to see someone. Our dog had a severe allergic reaction to something and they got her taken care of and saved us a lot of stress and worrying. So glad we chose to make this place our fur children's place of care.
