There are many online pharmacies, especially those you are familiar with that frequent television ads and market home delivery of veterinary prescriptions at greatly reduced prices. The most popular items include heartworm prevention, flea and tick control products, and prescription diets. These products are not guaranteed by the manufacturer for quality because the manufacturer refuses to allow their products to be distributed by these internet sites. The internet companies solicit third party sources to obtain product that are often not properly prepared or handled.
Dogs generally go to the bathroom outside, however it is possible for them to be box or puppy pad trained. Veterinary Care - We currently offer vaccinations against rabies, distemper/parvo/parainfuenza/hepatitis/corona/leptosporosis, bordetella (kennel cough), canine influenza, and lyme disease. A fecal check should be performed yearly to make sure your dog does not have any intestinal parasites (some, of which, they can give to you!).
A fecal check should be performed yearly to make sure your cat does not have intestinal parasites (some, of which, they can give to you!) Even an indoor exclusively cat can have intestinal parasites. Cats tend to hunt mice and insects which can infect your cat with these parasites. A heartworm test should be performed annually.
Diet - Pelleted food is a healthier choice than a seed diet, but it is important to convert birds slowly by offering seeds at the cage bottom, and pellets mixed with a few seeds at a higher location. Avicakes and Nutraberries are very good for improving your bird's diet, as they are mixtures of seeds and pellets.
Habitat - They need a clean roomy tank, fresh water, a UVA/UVB light source, a heat source, and newspaper or paper towels to line the tank. Please refer to our lizard check list for an easy terrarium guide. They are best kept at temperatures ranging between 85-90 degrees with basking spots at 95-100 degrees.

Dr. Hollifield is the most knowledgeable and caring Vet I have every had for my Tortoise; Jadzia Dax. I've had Dax for 24 years and while I moved further away from Best Friends' I gladly drive the extra miles to take Dax to the best!

The vet was wonderful with my nervous dog. She spent time trying to make her feel comfortable. I am very happy I chose to go to Best Friends. I would highly recommend this vet!

Dr. Hollifield is wonderful. Her assistant Cecilia is also fabulous. When getting their vaccinations my dogs don't even flinch. They give them treats while getting the shot/shots. For me it's sad when they yelp and flop around. I also feel that Dr. Hollifield genuinely cares about their well-being. I have never felt pressured or chastised about the decisions I was making for my dogs.

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They talk to your pets like they were people and are very caring towards them. Dr. Holyfield is a wonderful vet. She said my "Tyke" was precious, and how she loves senior kitties. She works with all kinds of animals and treats them all with equal caring. I highly recommend this practice.

Absolutely love this vet! We brought our new rescue Canella in for her check up and Dr H is absolutely fantastic as well as the technicians and front desk. I love how fast their communication is and how willing they are to help our sweet girl. Definitely recommend!

Best Friends Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful place to take your pet! They took such good care of my guinea pig, midnight, until she took her last breath. They did everything they could for her. Once she transitioned to guinea pig heaven, they were so supportive, caring and kind. They gave me a condolence card, poem and a beautiful plaque with her name and footprint on it. It was so touching! You could tell they really cared about her. I would highly recommend Best Friends Veterinary Hospital!

My dog has had exceptional care from Best Friends Vet Hospital since he was just a pup. For 12 years now he has received compassionate, quality care. He loves Doctor Hollyfield and all the staff! As he has grown older and his needs have changed, Dr. Hollyfield has been right alongside us, providing us with the best care. He can't wait to see his friends at Best Friends and get special treats!

The staff here are kind and helpful, and everyone is so good with dogs, especially doc. My family has been going here for over a decade for our dog, as well as recently bringing a new puppy, and it's been great. The new puppy actually LIKES going to the vet.

Dr. Hollifield is the best vet ever. She helped me raise a cocker until she was 18 and now nursing a new puppy back to health. She is smart, kind, a great communicator, and super responsive. Love the practice!

My friend recommended Best Friends to me. So this was my first time there. I had such a wonderful experience! Everyone was super friendly and professional! Everyone from the front desk, Vet Tech and the doctor! The doctor spent a lot of time with me discussing the issues and making me and my dog feel comfortable. The Vet Tech was awesome! She sat and went through 5 years of my paperwork to make sure my baby had all her vaccinations/daily meds. The lobby is bright and inviting as well!! I would highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

Dr. Hollifield and her team literally saved our dog's life. When our dog couldn't stand up we rushed him to the vet and found out that he had both a vestibular disease and a very distended stomach that required surgery. Her team cleared their schedule to get him right in. Two weeks later and he's wagging his tail and back to being the hound dog we know and love.

They're great at what they do but they also care. Knowing we were worried sick they provided constant updates, keeping us up to date on everything going on (and telling us pricing upfront so that there were no surprises, a change from other vets we had previously). The care Harvey received was exceptional. I could not recommend them and the staff enough for both these emergencies, and the normal check ups, where the care is still exceptional and prices extremely fair, especially for the area.

This vet hospital is one of the best. All the staff is kind and so knowledgeable. Even after my faithful friend passed away, they made sure that me and my family were okay. Everyone from Dr. H to her staff is amazing and really fight to get your furry friend in better health. Beyond thankful for them and would recommend them over and over again.

We took our 2 dogs here in late November for fairly bad itching. They were started on an allergy pill. Gradually 2 more pills were added and seemed to work. Then one dog got worse and was losing her hair and smelled horrible. Took her back in and she was given a steroid shot and increased dosage of pills. At this point her skin looked awful. 2 weeks later, no improvement and the other dog started losing hair.

I called after researching on the interns and suggested she may have mange. Vet said no and increased another dosage. Finally, after the poor dogs were miserable we tried a new vet. They looked at her skin, took a scraping and said it was mange! Not only did we spend $1,500 at Best Friends, but our dogs have suffered terribly and since it went so long untreated they are still affected.

This practice is fine for shots but PLEASE don't take your pet here for any serious problems. I understand doctors aren't perfect and misdiagnosis happens. However, no excuse when I figure it out on my own and still no acknowledgement, treatment or apology!

Dr. Victoria Hollifield and her staff are the best! They have been my vet clinic of choice since 2005 and have cared for my four cats and rabbit, my brother's two rats and mice and my partner's cat as well. Each animal has received top quality care and I am always impressed with the care with which my pets are handled. My pets have lived long and healthy lives with the care and treatment received at Best Friends.

The rare times in which my animals were ill have been quickly remedied or successfully managed. Most of all, aside from being professional and courteous, Dr. Hollifield and her staff ensure you understand the recommended treatment plan and medications prescribed. They also consider your pet's comfort as high priority and have been extremely successful in minimizing my senior cat's discomfort during painful symptoms or sensitive procedures. I highly recommend their clinic.

I took my sick dachshund, Maxx, to Best Friends by referral from another animal clinic, and a customer at my job. I was with Banfield at the time and I've come to realize that they weren't doing what they needed for him. I stopped in with Maxx for a quick consultation, and the receptionist was able to schedule my an appointment in the same day. Dr. Hollifield is so gracious and did everything she could to help my dog.

She even said that if the care was beyond anything she could do, she would consult and/or send his case over to VCA, but remain in contact with the hospital to check up on his condition. She refuses to give up on any friend she is treating, and in my opinion I think that's what a phenomenal vet does. She was gentle and soothing while examining Maxx.

She provided us with daily phone calls to update my family on his condition. Unfortunately we had to put him down because his kidneys were deteriorating, but Dr. Hollifield and her wonderful staff helped put him and family at ease as we said our goodbyes. As painful as it was to say goodbye to our friend (he just turned 3 on New Years day), she and her staff was there to comfort my family.

She continues to remain in contact with us, and we do plan on working with her in the future when we are ready to rescue two more dachshunds. I highly recommend Best Friends Veterinary Hospital, because they really do live up to their motto: "taking care of your best friends as if they were our own".
