Canton Animal Hospital LLC was founded in 1995, based on the idea that a veterinary hospital could be something better than the existing norm. Veterinary medicine has often been characterized as lagging 10, 20 or even 30 years behind human medicine and that truth is often evident in the clinics and hospitals existing today.
Uniquely, Canton Animal Hospital LLC keeps veterinary medicine, surgery and dentistry as its sole focus. We do not attempt to operate simultaneously as a boarding kennel, feed store, grooming salon, pet store or training center. We believe that these functions, while important, are often inherently incompatible with a modern, ethical veterinary practice.

In all of my dog owners years (many!), I have never had a vet take this much time with me for an initial visit. He got to know my pup on the pup's terms and time and my dog was so comfortable there. I was asked repeatedly if I understood the option, and if I had questions. Dr. Goldman was knowledgable, friendly and obviously loves animals. The staff could not be kinder. I felt at home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I cant say anything but GREAT things about this clinic. We took my daughters rabbit to get neutered. From making the appointment, to calling with questions and taking him for his procedure the staff were very helpful and friendly. Dr. Goldman is beyond kind, patient and very knowledgeable. We had some concerns when we brought our rabbit home because one of his ears appeared to be swollen, warm to touch and very droopy.
Our rabbit does not naturally have flopped ears so to see him with one ear up and one down was not normal. We immediately called Dr Goldman. He was very responsive and attentive. He had us bring our rabbit back right away. He even met me at the clinic an hour before their office opened to allow me to drop our rabbit off early so that I can make it to work on time.
Him and his staff spent most of the day with our rabbit to find the reason why this happened to our rabbit. They called me with several updates throughout the day. I am happy to say Dr Goldman was very creative with his treatment process and our rabbits ear is healed and up again. I will forever bring my rabbit and any future animals to them so long as they are there.

I give 1 star because the staff was extremely friendly there and made me feel comfortable as a first time dog owner! But when I brought my newly adopted puppy for his first physical I was told he was younger then the adoption agency told me he was and needed his vaccinations again because they wouldn't be effective. As a concerned new dog owner, I contacted the agency I got him from and they told me he absolutely did not need those vaccinations again.
I went and got a second opinion and he DID NOT need them. Do not recommend, I feel like they just wanted my money because they knew I was a new pet owner and I adopted a dog from a rescue.

When Holly our 12-year-old miniature long-haired Dachshund developed a swelling in the right side of her snout, then lost interest in food or just about anything. We knew we needed to go see a vet quickly. Since moving to this area we did not have a vet and a neighbor recommended Canton Animal Hospital. I was so relieved when they said they could see Holly that afternoon.
The Staff and the Doctor were excellent. They looked at Holly's condition and the state of her health then put her on antibiotics for the infection. We then came up with a plan to get her fully recovered. She has already started to be her old self due to the meds. The Staff and Dr. Goldman were very helpful and diligent in getting relief for Holly and Holly's whole family is very grateful for their help and support, we wish them as Happy a Thanksgiving as they have given us! Great work! I highly recommend Dr. Goldman and commend the staff of the Canton Animal Hospital!

I can't believe the negative reviews for this vet so I had to add my 2 cents worth (5 stars). Dr. Goldman was our vet many years ago but we have moved out of the area. Back then, my biggest impression of him was how he acted that he loved my pets just as much as I do. The affection he would show towards my pets was amazing. Got great veterinary care there, the office staff was great and the prices were right in line with everyone else. Would still be going there if I lived in the area.

Dr. Goldman and staff are consummate professionals who deliver state of the art veterinary care to their patients. He has taken care of all of my animals for years - including our beloved retriever who had cancer - and he has never failed us. His standards are very high and his expectations of owners are high as well. If you are a conscientious pet owner and want the very best for your animals, then there is no better place than Canton AH and Dr. Goldman.
If you treat your animals like inanimate objects and want the cheapest treatment around, look elsewhere. I can't believe the other reviewers here - there is clearly a backstory that they are deliberately not detailing. And the airplane complaint? Right - as if Dr. Goldman is going to put his own beloved pet at risk. Bottom line: the best diagnostician, the best surgeon, and the best pharmacy are right there on Rt 44 in Canton.
