Services
We have seen it all, this means your kitty is diagnosed fast and most importantly gets better quickly. Dr. Schmidt has dedicated the last 36 years to feline specific veterinary medicine; Dr. Miller, the last 20. Every year veterinarians must complete 20 hours of "continuing education" to maintain their professional license.
We are a full-service veterinary clinic for cat care only. We offer kitten to senior cat health care and everything in between. Your cat may already have specific symptoms or a diagnosed disease. We see many second opinions and have a reputation for successfully diagnosing and treating complicated cases.
At Northern Illinois Cat Clinic, you and your cat are treated like family. We begin the tour in our home-like reception area where there are no barking dogs or loud noises to scare your furry companion. The environment is calm and relaxed, many cats who normally are very stressed for their veterinary visits do surprisingly well at our office.
At Northern Illinois Cat Clinic, we recommend your cat should have a dental checkup annually. Cats are very proficient at hiding symptoms of pain or illness. Bad breath is the only symptom of dental problems that you are at all likely to observe in your cat. If your cat has noticeable bad breath, you should schedule a dental exam with your veterinarian.

I am so happy we found Northern Illinois Cat Clinic! They always treat our fur babies with such loving kindness. Dr. Miller takes the time to answer my questions, I never feel rushed out of the visit. Someone always checks in the day after every visit to make sure kitties are doing alright. Nicole has gone above and beyond to help me schedule visits around my crazy work schedule. Saffron and Salem are forever grateful and so am I!

I took my cats to the Northern Illinois Cat Clinic for 20 years. Most recently my cat suffered from several serious illnesses and required frequent veterinary intervention. Everyone on the staff are caring and compassionate. We have moved out of the area and I wish I could find a clinic like theirs in our new location.

I've been taking my cats to Northern Illinois Cat Clinic since 2006. Drs. Miller and Schmidt have treated my four cats for numerous conditions and routine care. I appreciate having a clinic that is cat-exclusive. One of our cats has been treated for t-cell lymphoma for three years, another has serious dental issues, a third has chronic eye issues, and the fourth is generally healthy, but is VERY difficult to handle.
The techs are warm, friendly and very skilled, and the vets are thorough, knowledgeable and take time to explain procedures and options. Yes, the care is expensive, but the vets and staff respect decisions made by the pet parent, and I have never felt pressured by a sales pitch from anyone. Unlike other veterinary clinics, I have been able to go into the examining room with my cats for every single visit during the COVID restrictions, which I appreciate. At this vet, you pay for the best care for your cats, and you receive the best care.

My cat Snickers was fighting cancer and we knew we didn't have much time with her. The vets and staff did a wonderful job trying to make her as comfortable as possible during this time. When we did have to say goodbye, I couldn't have asked for a better place to do so. It was very sad, but also very calm and peaceful. I'll never forget the vet telling us how beautiful our baby was, even in death. They also mailed us a card signed by the vets and staff with their condolences.
