First the good things about this clinic. Deanne is kind, and managed my Tibetan Mastiff well. Often she worked with her without a muzzle. The vet tech and staff were happy and pleasant. HOwever, the cost of the services was something I found difficult to justify. Visits were around two hundred and fifty dollars, four times a month. One thousand dollars a month.
Pretty steep, but more of a concern was that services were provided by veterinary technicians (referred to as "therapists" in the treatment descriptions.). These services included aqua treadmill, and then teaching message and teaching physical therapy techniques. These techniques I felt would be easily learned by watching a You Tube video. I discussed my concerns with Deanne, she is professional and polite, but seemed to take offense.
The explanation was that the cost for the services were given in a handout at the start of services. I looked these up but found that there was a range of charges. A forty five minute appointment was charged for teaching message, that lasted twenty minutes. I was charged 148 dollars for this appointment. I asked about this about this and was refunded the money. However, I did learn more that I found disturbing.
These services were provided by people who were not physical therapists. Deanne said she had trained them herself, and seemed defensive about my objections. Every person I had contact with at Tops Rehab were kind, cheerful. and enjoyable. My objections are that the fees are so high, and given what vet tech are paid, could be more affordable. (Also, some services such as laser treatments are not widely accepted in the wider vet community.) I did not see improvement after treatment sessions.
My dog did show overall improvement but as she was taking pain medication it was hard to attribute to the treatments. Deanne had the owner of the company email me. He, was insouciant, interested in shutting me down, not oriented to resolve or engage what he described as my "Complaining." The explanation he gave for the high fees did not hold water.
Previously I had worked with Alex R. at TOPS dog training facility, He was very helpful with very difficult issue with a Tibetan Mastiff. I had gone to TOPS Rehab as I had worked with Alex and his wife, who I feel are very principled and ethical people. Not only were their rates reasonable but I also knew of these very hard working people to be charitable to people with difficult circumstances. I have the highest regard and deepest respect for them. TOPS rehab has a different culture though, with a different management philosophy.

Our 14 year old Lab has been going to TOPS for several years. Everyone on the staff has been so friendly and professional. TOPS provides a number of treatment options for your pet (hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and laser therapy to name a few). The facility is clean and well maintained, inside and out. Prices seem reasonable for the care and services provided. Our dog enjoys coming here and benefits from the treatments he receives. A tip TOPS place we recommend!

Thank you to TOPS for all the hard work they have put in so far for getting Ruby back on her feet. IVDD is such a scary thing TOPS showed me with the right steps, it doesn't have to be. TOPS really took the time and effort to make not only Ruby better, but to put my mind at ease as well. I know she is in the best of care with you guys. Thank you guys for all your compassion and hard work. Miss Sassy pants thanks you too.

I have been taking my dogs to TOPS Veterinary Rehabilitation since 1994. I had a dog with Degenerative Myopathy, a terminal disease. I can never thank them enough for giving me an extra year and they made his last year of life easy on him. I now have two dogs with severe hip problems. Because of their therapy regiments, they are able to walk, jump and run. Things they were never going to be able to do without their help. TOPS is an amazing place.
Their only plan is to give your dog as healthy and active life as they can. They use all the latest equipment and therapies available to them. They are current in all medical techniques. Their staff is highly trained and care about your dog just like you do. The desk staff is always eager to help and make your life easy with all the appointments you may have.
The doctors are very knowledgeable in rehabilitation and they work closely with your veterinarian to assure they reach the outcome you for desire your dog. TOPS is the best word to described this clinic. They know what it takes and they do what it takes to make your dog happy and healthy. Thank you TOPS for all you have done for my dogs. You have given them the life they deserve.

Amazing, compassionate, understanding. There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful group these people are. From the doctors, the rehab staff, the office staff they are always there when you need them and always willing to go the extra mile. They go above and beyond any place we have ever experienced. They truly are the best of the best.

The vets and techs at Tops are amazing! They take such good care of my dogs.try new things when appropriate. Always make recommendations. My dogs love going and are doing so much better. I have been going for about a year with my dogs (1 has nerve issues, the other very bad joints and arthritis - and the therapy helps them maintain an active and painfree lifestyle), my mom's dog collapsed.
After internist vets, we took him to TOPS. I truly believe that without TOPS, he would not be with us anymore. Tops therapy has given him mobility and a pain free life. While not too active, he is a super happy dog with hopefully a lot more time.

The vets, technicians and staff are tops at TOPS. I wanted to be proactive in ensuring that my 13year old Lab continues to enjoy her runs at the park, swimming at the beach and general wellness, so after noticing some stiffness, I took her for an evaluation to Dr Christine. We are now on a maintenance program and Emma is moving so much better and even jumping onto my bed with ease.
My goal is to have my heart dog around for as long as possibly to enjoy the things we both loves. Thank you to the expert and friendly staff who make TOPS the best Rehab place in Illinois.

My dogs have been patients with TOPS since 2006. I originally started with TOPS in 2006 when my agility dog began to have trouble with balance. Unfortunately, he had a progressive neurological disorder. I was a patient for three years as Dr. Laurie helped me keep him comfortable and upright. As the disease progressed I mentioned how he struggled to get in the van.
They GAVE me a ramp to use and told me they had a program. No need to buy a ramp for my dog, I just used it until it was no longer needed. And in addition, when it was no longer needed, because his disorder was incurable the staff was there with hugs and genuine grief when I turned it in. I have taken my sweet little feral rescue dog for an adjustment and the dog who didn't want to be touched by strangers refused to leave Dr. Laurie's lap when her time was up.
And most recently I brought my young dog in for treatment for an acute shoulder injury sustained slipping on the pergo and they treated him with state of the art laser therapy, adjustments and they also helped me emotionally with encouragement and care. Plus, he's back running agility 100% and better than ever.

We just started going to TOPS, as our golden retriever needs treatment for her arthritis. The staff is very knowledgeable and thorough with everything, plus they are friendly and caring. Additionally, the facility is clean and provides a variety of treatment options with up-to-date equipment. I highly recommend taking your animal here, even before there is an issue.
