Is honored to cater our veterinary services to the neighborhoods of Lake Villa, Lindenhurst, Grayslake, Antioch, Gurnee and the greater Northern part of Lake County since 1993. Animal Hospital of Lake Villa is owned by Dr. Edward McGinniss, who is a licensed and experienced veterinarian in Lake Villa.
Wellness exams-The wellness exam is important to ensure the health and early detection of illnesses. Routine vaccinations-Each pet is individually evaluated for which vaccines are needed. Our goal is to make sure your pet is adequately protected from disease, compliant with state, county, and local ordinances while avoiding overvaccination.
Animal Hospital of Lake Villa is a multi-doctor, AAHA accredited practice that provides preventative, surgical, and diagnostic services to its patients. We're a highly passionate group of individuals who values the importance of practicing the very best medicine delivered with the utmost compassion.
Q: I have already decided on my chosen career. Since I have made my decision, do I need to job shadow? A: That is a good question. It truly depends on the position you're looking to invest time in. The schools for Veterinarian and Certified Veterinary Technician will all include clinicals but most of them recommend that you shadow the jobs prior to applying to the colleges.

Worst vet ever please do not take your pet here. Veterinarian is constantly misdiagnosing my dogs. I don't even know how the rating for this place is currently at a 4. This place needs to be shut down. If your seeing this review please please hear me out and DO NOT go here, your dog will not get treated correctly. Update: so the owner replied to my review and had the nerve to comment information that isn't true and false.
I guess he went and looked up my name to see my pet and according to this person I took a cat there in 2017 which is nonsense because I do not own cats and the last time I was there was actually 6/17/22. So the owner needs to get his facts straight because apparently he was looking up the wrong person.

This vet clinic makes it extremely difficult to get answers for health related questions about your animal. They refuse to discuss any health advice or questions regarding my animal because they haven't been in to see them as we are snow birds and went to Florida for winter. I asked a simple question about giving my cat medication to help calm my cat for the car ride back to Illinois SO my cat can come in but the refuse to give me any advice. Iv spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on vet visits, shots, surgeries food etc and they can't tell me if I can give my cat medication for a 20+ hour car ride. It's all a money scam to get you to come in to spend more money.

Took me 4 different vets before I found Dr Unger and staff. Excellent service, friendly, patient, and clean. Staff knew I was nervous for mama's surgery, they text me updates all day long. So appreciate that! Thank you! During a regular visit they take their time with your pet, they get on the floor with your pet so the pet feels more comfortable. They come with a bag of cooked chicken and feed the pet throughout the examination. All around I have to say I will always take my animals to them!

I can't say enough good things about Animal Hospital of Lake Villa! They truly do everything they can to give every patient the best care. I've seen Dr Unger and techs Matt and Grace for over 12 years, my dog Ludo absolutely adored them. I appreciate the extra precautions they've taken over the last 2 years to ensure the safety of their clients while continuing see us. I'm beyond grateful for the love and care my Ludo always received.

The staff and doctors have been wonderful. We have a new puppy that does not want to eat and the vet could have taken advantage and done unnecessary test but he was realistic and knew what to do. I feel I can trust them with our new family member. Plus, Britney and Matt are so kind and caring. I have 2 special needs children and they have always been able to get me in and help to work it around my children's e-learning. I just think everyone I have interacted with have been GREAT! Thank you!

This has to be the most pet and people friendly animal hospital in Illinois. The staff is super friendly and easy to talk with. I was greeted with smiles, friendly conversation and an offer of a cup of coffee. The staff and doctors cuddle and hug your pets and offer calm reassuring conversations with them. They have a separate entrance and waiting area for dog and separate entrance and waiting area for cats and other pets.
They have the plug in pheromones scents for dogs and cats to help your pet stay calm. They offer smoked chicken breast to dogs as they examine them to make the trip to the vet as stress free as possible. We have been bringing our pets here for 18 years.
