After numerous years with 2 fur babies taken care of at Academy, it is time to move on. I found myself in a time crunch to get a 5 minute shot done only to be told it would be over a week before they could make an appointment, guess customer service or satisfaction isn't what it used to be for long time clients anymore. obviously the rating they claim is over 2 years old and things have changed. It's a shame loyalty isn't a two way street anymore. It may have something to do with the new management.

If I could give 10 STARS, I would! Dr. Vinson and her staff are exemplary in their care and knowledge. Mayhem (Bullmastiff) has had a chronic chough for months. Without her knowledge Mayhem would not be around today. Dr. Vinson has worked with a team of veterenarians and specialistsin southern Indiana to get to the root of our girl's chronic pneumonia.
We adore Dr. Vinson and so does Mayhem. Even though we have moved to southern Indiana, we still make frequent trips to the Indianapolis area and are proud to have her as a part of Mayhem's medical team when we are in town.

The care and services have changed over the years. It's not a good place to take pets anymore. Staff is rude and uncaring. I was a client there for 15 yrs. I called today to get an appt for my sick kitty and found out I had been moved to inactive, they aren't taking "new patients". as if I was new. Despite all the money I've spent there. The personal, welcoming and caring is gone. I'd rather have someone who actually cares take care of my pets.

Dr Morgan killed our dog on April 28th. We brought our little boy in to check him out. He had a tough day on Tuesday. He had a ulcer in his eye that fared up. We were going on vacation that morning. I was packing the car while my wife took him in. Dr. Vinson was our vet and she was off. Dr Morgan took him in. Without knowing our dogs background he suggested to my wife he needed to be put down.
Our dog had issues but the one that was bothering him was never brought up. Dr Vinson seen him on Friday before and said he was doing better and keep doing what we were doing. On the 28th morning our dog went out did his business and ate his breakfast, I am not a vet but our boy was much better that morning. I get a call saying stop packing for him he is not coming home. Dr. Morgan made a decision not made on facts but what he wanted to do not what needed to be done. Avoid him. He at one time might had been good but he is washed up today. Our dog would be still with us today if it was not for him.

I love Dr. Vinson no doubt. When I first went there and saw Dr. Morgan I was upset and my dog did not like him. A cute little girl who worked there (no longer there) told me she thought my dog would like Dr. Vinson better. just a tip she said. Thank goodness for her because Dr. Vinson is so smart and compassionate. Yes she is the reason I go there.

Critical: Professionalism, Reliability, Responsiveness Dr. Morgan is very good. Dr. Vinson does not follow thru with what she tells her clients when it comes to her personal days off over the passing of your babies. It will break your heart. Take my word on this. She did this not once but I "let" her do it to us with two of our babies. NOT this time!

Today was our first visit with Dr. Morgan and I can not say enough great things! With the covid restrictions, our puppy Oakley was greeted outside by staff and taken in for his appointment. Dr. Morgan was in constant communication with me during Oakley's visit keeping me informed of the treatment plan and pricing. I wasn't pressured to buy any. special food or pay outlandish fees, which has happened at other vet offices I have been too. Dr. Morgan answered any questions I had without hesitation or making me feel rushed. Very friendly and knowledgeable veterinarian and staff-I highly recommend Academy Animal Hospital! Thank you for getting us in quickly and helping our guy Oakley feel better

My horses and pets have been patients for 40 years. I have been so blessed to have such caring vets and staff. One time my little Yorkie got into some blood pressure pills of my aunts. She was in the ICU at Academy during the day and at the vet's home at night so they might keep a close watch on her. With a such care she was back to almost normal in 8-10 days and we took her home for Thanksgiving. She lived another 10 years and they were there for me at the end.

This vet is incompetent. We told Dr. Morgan that our dog was lethargic, bent over in pain, wheezing, and not eating or drinking. But the vet told us that her symptoms were vague and that she was fine. Turns out she had pancreatitis, thank God we took her to another vet when we got home because she was still acting funny. Hopefully she will get better soon.
At the other vet hospital we brought her to, they actually performed blood work and tests. While Dr. Morgan at the Academy Animal Hospital didn't perform any tests other than a body examination. He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about and doesn't even look into if the pet is actually sick. I wouldn't not recommended this vet.

Dr. Morgan did an outstanding job on my dog's (Penny) eye. She had quite a large growth on her lower eyelid that was getting large enough that it would have caused serious problems. After the removal, the growth is completely gone. Penny looks so good; just like it was never there. Thank you to Dr. Morgan and the staff at Academy Hospital for taking such good care of my girl.
We were not led to believe that the results would be so perfect. Not only does she look great and feels better but she was treated so gently by everyone involved. She's a social dog and responds to kind attention. We could tell when picking her up that she was not in pain at all; nor frightened. We received good education about what to do for her at home. Finally, we were surprised that her nails had been trimmed as well. We'll never go anywhere else for Penny.

This was our first time to Academy Animal Hospital and it will for sure not be our last! We just recently adopted a puppy and it was such a hassle to figure out which vet to go to or who to trust with our pup. Our friends had recommended this animal hospital and we loved it! We saw Dr. Vinson and she was the sweetest to our pup and answered all of our crazy first pet parent questions.
The facility is so clean, and they open at 7am so we were able to go before work! They offer grooming and boarding as well. The boarding is only offered to clients who receive their vaccinations here, I thought that was pretty cool. Our pup never felt nervous or threatened by anyone here. This was not a vet office where I felt like my pup was just another pet to make money off of. They told us what was essential for her to have and what was not. Our first visit was super affordable and I'm so at ease that we found a great place to come to!

I drove well out of my way to this location because the groomer was compassionate to my senior pet situation. "No judgments" she said and I believe that to be true. Unfortunately, the vet, Dr Morgan, was anything but compassionate and I left in tears. When I asked what he would do in my situation, he told me he didn't know and then bluntly told me the price for the procedure (as if money alone makes a decision with a senior pet).
He then abruptly left saying he had a personal doctors appointment and let him know what I decided. I decided I never wanted to see him or the place again. Senior pet care is a delicate situation and I was looking for someone empathetic to my situation. This person was not. The groomer, on the other hand, tried to ease my concerns and for that I'm grateful. But as someone going there for the first time, there's nothing that could make me go back or recommend this place to someone else.

Very nice staff and more affordable than some vets. Or at least very fair pricing I felt for teeth cleaning. I just moved to town, and had taken my two dogs to a low cost clinic for shots and for ear infections. One of the vets at the low cost clinic told me I needed to have some of my male dogs teeth pulled immediately as one looked abscessed. I called Academy Animal Hospital because they at least had a few prior good reviews, knowing no other pet owners where was I to look but online and calling?
I called on a Tuesday and they were able to get me in for a teeth cleaning and extractions that Friday. (they offered next day but I had work conflicts) My dog is a mill dog rescue I have had for two years and he has always had terrible teeth and breath. Another vet in my last state ( CO) gave me a hard time about this, and estimated $600+ for treatment there.
After saving up money and job relocating in the mean time, expecting the worse, the vet bill here with lab tests, cleaning, antibiotic and 8 extractions was less than $400 for a 13 lb dog. Not only was I grateful that I can afford other things this month, but the Vet did not make me feel guilty, they were understanding. And the vet personally called to go over care instructions and talk about what they did before I returned to pick him up. Less than a week later a nice thank you letter arrived, thanking me for choosing them, and I am glad I did. I will be returning and going there with all my dogs from now on.

I have had some great experiences with the Academy Animal Hospital. I had a guinea pig which had quickly grown a tumor (seemingly overnight) and located the Academy Animal Hospital as a vet friendly to exotic pets. I was able to get in an appointment for my pig the same day and they were very knowledgeable, helpful, and realistic in determining a treatment for my pig.
When she took a turn for the worst less than a week later, they were very accommodating and had me into the vet within 20 minutes of calling. I appreciate all the care and special attention they provided even the smallest pets. I also took my cat to the Academy Animal Hospital where they provided reasonable prices for care and vaccines. The vets and techs were all very nice and did not try to push unnecessary shots or procedures for my furry friend.
I highly recommend Academy Animal Hospital for their quality of care, reasonably prices, and willingness to work with you in times of crisis or emergency. They also have longer hours to help those who work 9-5.

Dr. Borlick is exceptional. This was our chihuahua's vet and they were always exceptional. The staff was amazing and the vet was very friendly. We were there twice a week for 6 weeks during a hip dysplasia episode and were always comfortable. We had to ultimately put our chihuahua down due to health problems and we could not have asked for a better place. The staff was genuinely sympathetic and caring. The doctor even came up and hugged my wife and I afterwards. This is by far the best vet we've been to.
