Creature Comforts Veterinary Service is a 24-hour small animal and exotics AAHA hospital located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. We are well equipped and very progressive, with an emphasis on good client communications and excellent patient care. We provide traditional and homeopathic care for patients of all small animal and exotics species.
Did you know that accreditation for animal hospitals is voluntary? Surprising, isn't it? Nearly 60 percent of pet owners believe that their pet's veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. In actuality, only 12-15% of animal hospitals have gone through the accreditation evaluation process by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
Before you come inside, we ask that your pet be restrained, either on a leash or in a pet carrier. We are an extremely busy clinic, and you and your pet will most likely meet several other guests and their pets while you are here. If you are unsure about how your pet will react, or if your pet is aggressive, we ask that you please put a muzzle on them before entering the building.

Do not bring your animals here. We adopted a sweet foster cat that we found on the side of the road in December who had been badly abused. Her jaw and nose were messed up and we brought her immediately to this vet as they were the only emergency one open. They inserted a feeding tube incorrectly and 4 months later our sweet girl passed away due to their negligence.
She developed an infection in her mouth as a result of their improper care and every other vet we brought her to was appalled at what they had done. There was no saving her as the feeding tube had become lodged in her throat and there was no way to dislodge it due to the way Creature Comforts inserted it. There is nothing comforting for the animals that come here. Our sweet girl died and our family is mourning because of their failure. She could have had a chance. RIP Bobbi.

Dr. Karin and her staff are caring professionals. Being a Vet has got to be so difficult. The patients can't talk and few people have insurance to cover bills. I found CC to be progressive in dealing with my pet, utilizing the latest tools to get the best results. I also found them to very fair when it comes to charges. If not for Dr. Karin, my dog would've never lived the happy, active life he had for 15 years. I highly recommend.

I have had many good experiences with this vet. Every single staff member is polite and professional. I am very grateful to Dr. Karin for getting my dog to walk again after an injury to his back. If it was not for her doing chiropractic work on him I don't believe his quality of life would have been good. Thanks to her he can get around on his own. I would like to take this time to thank each and every staff member. I appreciate all you do.

I took my dog here on a Sunday as his normal vet is closed. He was in need of some serious help as he wasn't feeling so good. He was in the ICU and that alone was heart breaking, let alone not being with him! Every step of the way no matter who I spoke to they had answers or helped with my many questions. They called and updated me everyday with what they were doing and how he was.
When I tell you they were gracious with me as I called multiple times a day to see how he was and each time they answered. I kept asking them if he was happy and wagging his tail and they took the time to make sure they updated me that he did. It is safe to say I was over protector him they even let me go see him. Each and every person who helped my sweet boy genuinely cared and I saw it in real time.
Forever grateful to every single one of them and will recommend to anyone. He has a long road of recovery but they all seem confident in the outcome. I am sorry to anyone who had a bad experience with them, but my review is well deserved.

I have used Creature Comforts since 1994 and can say I have never had a bad experience. They have cared for all of my pets including in emergency situations. I will always recommend them to anyone with a pet in need of care. I have certainly witnessed some miracles where my pets are concerned thanks to these doctors.

My family and I just moved to the area and Creature Comforts was my first call. It's very hard to find an exotic vet that takes rabbits, let alone one close to where you live, so I was extremely relieved and excited to find out that they could take my rabbit, as well as my cats. The staff there is very friendly and you can tell that they love their jobs and the work they do because it shows.
The vet techs and Dr. Karin are the best. Great bedside manner, friendly and they know what they're doing. They even let me come inside with my trifecta and be a part of their care and appointment, which was nice. Nice calming environment for pets and their humans and very reasonably priced. 10 stars. I found my vet for life. thanks CC!

I've had to use this place in case of emergencies and always a bad experience but this last one takes the cake. My cat suffered a stroke we got him there as fast as possible they are extremely rude I was on face time I had children sleeping at home. They were rude to my 12 year old son whom was losing his first pet. My cat was suffering severely and all they cared about was getting their money not treating the cat.
I told them I had care credit and a debit card just not to let my animal suffer they were extremely nasty and had no bedside manner. They over charged my card and then were extremely rude. I understand being around trauma all the time may desensitize you, but have some decency. I have had so many pets over the years and gone to some many different vets but never once have I felt so belittled as I have from creature comforts.
If you're going to call yourself that, you should probably take some lessons on comfort because the staff on that night had 0 bedside manners. I pray that you read this and treat the next person with compassion because as it's just a job to you these animals are family to us. Good luck.

Wonderful Clinic! I couldn't find help anywhere for my Guinea Pig Lou. He was very sick & needed help immediately. Creature Comforts saw him and I truly believe they saved his life. They provided Lou with antibiotics, vitamin C treats, an educational pamphlet with Fantastic information for Guinea pigs, and a special food he needed to eat through a syringe until he could eat on his own.
They also provided the syringes. I was able to get on a payment plan as well. I will never go anywhere else for my pet's health care. Thank You So Much Creature Comforts! Lou says Thank You Too!

The staff here really care about our animals, and they know what they're doing! Also, they don't charge an arm and a leg for services. I've been to many vets who've treated my animals poorly or just didn't know what they were doing, but creature comforts isn't like that! They're very good with all of my animals, my big dog, small dog, and my pigs too! Definitely would recommend coming here over any other place in the area, even if it's a drive to get there.
