Dr. Jankunas and Dr. Frederick met at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where Dr. Jankunas attended veterinary school and Dr. Frederick completed his residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Jankunas relocated to the Hudson Valley, where Dr. Frederick was practicing equine medicine.
We are proud to introduce you to the talented and highly trained Veterinarians at Companion Pet Hospital. Kathy has been a client at our practice for her entire life and is the granddaughter of one of our first clients from 1983! Kathy earned an Associate's Degree from Krissler Business Institute and she happily takes on all tasks that she is asked to do as our practice manager.
Our veterinarians and staff are committed to bringing our patients the highest quality veterinary pet health care in Fishkill, preventative medicine, and well-animal maintenance programs. To initiate this process, we believe every pet needs and deserves an annual physical exam focusing not only on administration of the core vaccines, but more importantly on evaluation of its overall health.

Began bringing my new puppy here at 2 months old and I cannot say good enough things about the team at Companion! They all obviously love animals and were very caring and patient while explaining the processes for a new dog and all the questions I had. My puppy ended up having some tummy trouble and they were able to quickly offer suggestions, make a plan, and consistently checked in with phone calls every few days for updates! I would highly recommend them.

We took our English Bulldog the first time. He woke up and was unable to walk on 1 leg. They fit us in with an appointment within a few hours. We got there and the courteous, pampering and exceptional care they gave my dog was great. If there was 10 stars I would give it to them. Best vet I have ever been to with this kind of care. Highly Recommended

CPH is probably the best vet my husband and I have experienced. The doctors are so knowledge, they care about our dog, and take their time to walk through any questions. They treat our pup as they are their family. We have been so grateful to their staff and their support. I wish every vet experience was as smooth and loving as CPH!

Great staff Dr. Selzner is wonderful and the staff is so friendly! I've been to a few veterinarians since one of my rescue pups became diabetic and I love how thorough and caring they are here. I also love that they explain all the cost options and do their best to help you save whenever possible. I feel very confident putting my fur babies in their care!

This is a horrible place. DO NOT go there if you care about your pet. We took our 11 week puppy there for his routine puppy check up and shots and his life was taken away from us. In the presence of Dr. Ouart his kennel assistant Melissa Gilliam gave our 7 lb puppy a body hold and clamped his mouth shut that he could not get any oxygen, resulting in bruised lungs and a bloody mouth.
Our puppy was so weak he had to be given oxygen and an IV and taken to the ER where he died 24 hours later. Dr Ouart admitted that his assistant held our puppy too tight which caused his lungs to get bruised. We placed our puppy in the care of Dr. Ouart and he died needlessly. We are devastated and can not understand how a vet can have someone in his employ not be properly trained in the care of animals. This was a form of cruelty to animals our puppy was slowly tortured. Please take the advice of this review and do not take any animal to this animal hospial.
