Since 1980, Valley Cottage Animal Hospital has provided high-quality medical and emergency care for pets in the Valley Cottage area. Fast, comprehensive emergency care; wellness care for dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets, and advanced veterinary technology are available for pets in White Plains, Rockland County, Nyack, Putnam, Orangeburg, Haverstraw, Palisades Center, New City, Nanuet and the surrounding area. We offer state-of-the-art veterinary medical care in a caring and supportive environment.
Annual dental exams and cleanings are recommended to protect your pet from many health problems and help them maintain a healthy and clean mouth. Proper diet and nutrition can help your pet fight against disease, maintain a proper weight, and promote the overall well-being of your pet. Annual wellness exams evaluate your pets overall health, detect problems before they become serious, and keep them on track to live a long, healthy life. We're equipped to perform routine radiography services to identify many types of illness or injury when pets are sick or suffer a trauma.
As a new client of our animal hospital in Valley Cottage, New York, you can expect our full attention to your pet's needs. When you arrive for your appointment, our cheerful receptionist will greet you warmly. Once you are checked in, your dedicated veterinary assistant will lead you into the examination room and ask about your pet's medical history, current condition, and reason for your visit. The assistant will review the information with your veterinarian and prepare all the supplies needed for your appointment.
Regular appointment hours are Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the event that conventional payment options have been attempted and exhausted, an in-house payment plan may be set up. It must be arranged with a member of the management team PRIOR to services being rendered.

I just want to say thank you to Doctor Collins and the staff of Valley Cottage Animal Hospital. Today I brought in an injured feral cat who has been visiting my deck on and off for the past 2 months ( Cee Cee ). He did not make it, but the level of care, genuine compassion and support I was given at the Hospital was A++. Thank you again for trying to save his life.

Valley Cottage Animal Hospital was extremely helpful with helping us with our dog's allergic reaction. They took the time to talk to us about finding the source instead of simply treating the symptoms. They reached out the next day to see how our girl was doing and have been available to help us answer questions we have to help our girl.

Had such an awkward experience with them. I went for a bordetella shot for my 5-year-old cockapoo and the vet insisted on doing a full wellness check, fecal test, & various other vaccines even though I was unsure if she was even do for them (which she wasn't). I was hesitant but felt obligated by the vet. Overall the vet did care about my dog & she did end up having a slight ear infection which she is prone to, but I felt like the vet was pushing me to do unnecessary things to raise my bill.
They were unsure what I was there for even though I mentioned it twice (while booking my appointment & when first meeting the vet). I went for a $50 shot & ended up paying over $400. They're not considerate of their clients, and the vet was just super condescending and unpleasant. She was talking down to me as if I didn't just bring my dog to the vet four months ago for a wellness check.
When I went to pay, the front desk lady was super snarky & not understanding. I asked her if I could pay 75 % of my bill and the rest next week, and she laughed in my face. Do not bring your pet to this money-hungry place. There are other Animal Hospitals where you're treated with consideration & decency.

They are only interested in getting money out of you! Took my cat there for issues that were concerning us. They forced me to take routine vaccine since we happened to be there 3 months early! And might as well take care of it now speech and made me feel guilty to do it! Never even addressed the concern or follow up. It is sad because I'm with a new vet and it's all about the pet and not the pocket!

Service is outstanding. They were able to get me in early in the morning to see my sick puppy. Wait time was not long, and the whole staff were so kind and worked efficiently. It is very convenient that they are open everyday. Dr. Atkins is the best she knows exactly what to do, answered all my questions, and most importantly took care of my little pup!

I went to Valley Cottage Animal Hospital for the first time over a holiday weekend for an emergency, but they were able to see me right away. Dr. Atkins is very knowledgeable and provided great care for my rabbit with GI stasis. Within a day of seeing Dr. Atkins and getting on the right medications, Hubble started looking and feeling much better! It's such a relief that my rabbit is in great hands while he recovers. Thank you so much to Dr. Atkins and the whole staff at VCAH for all of their help!

They literally saved my dog's life. He went in with acute renal failure and while the odd's weren't completely in his favor, they didn't give up on him. He was admitted to the hospital for a week and the staff was super responsive the entire time. They checked EVERYTHING and ran every test to make sure they weren't missing anything as to the exact cause. They did absolutely everything they could and he came out as good as new! I would 100% trust this hospital!

Valley Cottage vets work with you to help your pet have the best quality of life. I feel 100% secure in leaving my pets in their care. With a knowledgeable and caring team, they will assist you with their earliest appointment if possible, or, on their emergency hours if needed. Most especially, your concerns are heard and their patience is comforting.
Though I have had great experiences with all of the vets, my personal recommendations are Dr. Atkins, Dr. Downing and Dr. Kochenburger. The staff are absolutely wonderful, compassionate, friendly and professional! Thank you Tracy, Lisa, Ruth, Phoebe and Sam

I brought my ferret, Maisie in for an emergency on Sunday. They came outside immediately and rushed her in. They kept me updated on everything and answered all my calls when I checked in with them, which was multiple times! They were extremely sweet and very professional. They kept my mind at ease and Maisie returned happy and healthy and I am so very grateful for them. Thank you ladies!
