High-definition images such as these are useful in examining your pet's bones, lungs, heart, abdomen, oral cavity, and other parts of the body. Importantly, digital radiographs can identify problems that a physical examination may not, such as a broken bone or a tumor.

This is my first ever review, and I can't express how amazing and attentive Hill Country is. I first came here because I took my dog to Castroville vet clinic for seizures and a lump. The doctor at that vet clinic played everything off. At a previous employee's recommendation, I took my dog to Hill Country. Mind you, this was his first visit and it was regarding his seizures. Dr. Doty did a general checkup and saw the lump that was previously dismissed.
She asked if she could test it and I quickly agreed since it was bothering me. They did blood work, testing.the whole works. I loved it. Turns out the lump on my dog was cancerous. I left with a medication prescription for his seizures, confirmation that the lump was cancer, heartworm testing, and a treatment plan and information about cancer. I LOVE that they show you an itemized summary of payment and treatment plan BEFORE they do anything. They show you the price before you pay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Our experience with Hill Country Animal Hospital has been nothing short of phenomenal. For the past few years, our dogs have been taken care of by the doctors and staff at HCAH. We've been fortunate to share both the good time and hard decisions. The level of care, attention to detail, and compassion shown by everyone from the front desk, to the techs and doctors is amazing. While we unfortunately don't need their services currently due to our dog passing recently, we hope to return when the time is right.

I rescued a dog that had many health issues and they called me a neglectful dog owner. Mind you I had been taking my other dog to them for years and never once got a rude comment! I did what I was supposed to and got this puppy the treatment she needed she was abandoned on the side of the road and I was the bad pet owner for taking her to the vet to get treated. I do not recommend coming here and I most definitely will never be coming back!

Yesterday I found a dog wandering in my neighborhood. I brought him into Hill Country Animal Hospital at about 6:35 in the evening. They scanned the dog for a chip and found the owners of the dog. This was not a simple task, they had to make multiple phone calls (waiting on hold) and go through several sites to get the information needed. We were still there at 7:00 (closing time) and not once did they make me feel like it was an inconvenience. They were even willing to stay late to wait for the owner to show up to pick up the dog. Thank you to the ladies in the front office who helped to find Gunner's family.

I can't say enough great things about Hill Country Animal Hospital. Dr. Doty and the Hill Country staff are the best! They do such a wonderful job making myself and my dogs feel comfortable and at ease at our appointments. Not to mention, the girls at the front are always smiling and so welcoming. I was apprehensive about finding a new vet when we moved to the area but I am SO happy we found Hill Country Animal Hospital. they truly treat our dogs as if they were their own.

I brought my puppy to get his final set of vaccinations for the year and he vomited twice on the way home. I was so concerned that I called the office and they were quick to have us come back to see the doctor! Luckily it just ended up being an upset tummy, but I was so impressed with how the staff and doctor handled the situation. I could tell they were busy but they still made sure my pup was seen as soon as possible!
Many thanks to the incredible staff for all of their help and to his wonderful vet, Dr. Macias! I will always come back because I trust the team to provide the BEST care for all of their patients! Sincerely, Pawzu & his mom

Not enough words to describe the care and experience their team provides for you and your furry family. I have taken 2 of my pets here so far and while one has been recovering well with medicine and is doing well, we ran a slew of tests that gave us an unfortunate outcome and had to put her down. The team was extremely caring and communication through the whole process of care and medicine was very clear. As long as I live here they will be caring for my other 4 animals.

We recently moved to San Antonio from Houston where we had the same vet for 13 years who we adored. I was very apprehensive about my fur babies first visit with a new vet being one that I could not accompany them due to COVID restrictions. Dr. Macias and the staff at Hill Country Clinic are absolutely top notch!! They were sensitive to my concerns and although my conversation with the Dr was via phone call, after speaking with Her, I was completely confident that my two pups were in great and caring hands.
She was very informative and took the time to answer any questions I had in terms that I could understand. My pups came out happy and unstressed which is all that any “Paw-rent” could ask for. I look forward to meeting everyone in person and highly recommend their services to anyone seeking a Veterinary Staff that will go the extra mile to care for your four legged children.

After being given a (literal) one inch thick file on my dogs with their ENTIRE medical history, my dog had to have dental surgery that nearly killed him due to a "component of the anesthesia", which gave him Meningitis. It's written in the notes! Then they need a prescription for the awful allergies, of course they can't refill them unless seen again. In a week, or so. They're just over priced hacks in my opinion. Catering to a "high end" Hollywood atmosphere.

The veterinarians and staff at Hill Country Animal Hospital have always taken great care of our dogs and cats, especially our cat Cleo who lived to be 20 years old. They were wonderful and very helpful when Cleo passed away in selecting his urn and a clay disk with his paw print. I love how caring they are at this clinic and the fact that they have state of the art equipment.

Charlie (my dog) loves coming here because they're always so great with him (and they give him treats). Dr. Lovell and the AWESOME nurses and assistants here have been helping me care for Charlie since I adopted him from ACS with severe sarcoptic mange and a leg wound. They're patient, conscientious, thorough, and so incredibly kind. They know us, and I trust them.

This is the best vet hospital I have ever been to. I have been taking my cats here for the last 14 yrs. The doctors and staff are very nice and friendly. I have a 20 yr old cat, Simba that has kidney disease and recently some other health issues. With his age there's not much that can be done. But they always give me their best professional opinion and choices.
Recently i had to go in twice within 6 days. I saw Dr. Petterson on the first visit and Dr. Krick on the second. I appreciated when she told me that her and Dr. Petterson had chatted about Simba's illness before coming in. That shows they really do care and want to do whats best. I love thier cat only waiting room and examine rooms. The feliway in the rooms really help keep my cat calm.
The vets and vet techs are always so sweet, gentle and caring to my cats. Also when I had to lay to rest my cat, Tigger 5 years ago they were very comforting. They even gave me a follow up call to see how i was doing. I couldn't ask for a better vet hospital and staff. Every penny i have and will spend there is well worth the health and well being of my cats.

Hill Country Animal Hospital has literally saved my baby's life! Dr. Macias has been nothing but amazing and I'm so thankful for her and the other nurses that have taken care of Converse. Dr. Macias is so personable and patient and will take the time to thoroughly explain everything that is going on and that means so much to me. I couldn't have asked for a better vet to bring my dog to.
