PEMF (Pulsating Electronic Magnetic Field) is utilized to speed up recovery from injuries and to relax and warm up tensed muscles! Just like for humans PEMF therapy helps horses in healing injuries; it promotes and speeds up regeneration and rehabilitation. In short, a PEMF device creates a pulsing electromagnetic field within hose-looking tubular loops, which helps horses recover at a cellular level by stimulating cell metabolism. The magnetic field brings more oxygen into the red blood cells and pushes them towards the areas that are injured or inflamed.
Preventive maintenance is always the best medicine. In the Spring: West Nile Virus, Eastern & Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, Influenza and Rhinopnuemonitis. In the Fall: West Nile Virus, Influenza and Rhinopneumonitis again, and Rabies. An immunization for Streptococcus Equi (Strangles) may be given in early summer.
When it comes to Pigeon Fever, I wish I had a recorded message on a "900" pay per minute phone number when they were all the rage! Why? Because when we are experiencing an "outbreak, " I find myself on the phone, answering the same questions, trying to find new ways to answer them to avoid sounding robotic.
