Planned Pethood Plus Inc - Jeff Young 2 out of 3 animals euthanized are put to sleep because the owner cannot pay for medical treatment. P.P.I. currently spay and neuters over 3,000 companion animals per year on a budget of just over $150,000. All staff, including veterinarians and support personnel, are volunteers, including vacationers who take time from their leisure activities to chip in.

As one vacationing volunteer said, This is one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life! I had no experience and thought I would be carrying a clipboard or doing something administrative.

Services
Established in 1990 by Dr. Jeff Young, Planned Pethood International opened its Denver clinic. Our mission: To end economic euthanasia and significantly reduce pet overpopulation and suffering of companion animals by offering affordable common sense veterinary medicine to everyone. We are a full service affordable quality care clinic for companion animals.
P.P.I. offers affordable veterinary services for every family! We accept cash, credit or bank card (not American Express) Sorry, we do not accept checks of any kind. We do recommend that you apply for Scratch Pay to make payments! Major surgeries and hospitalization require a deposit of ($100- $300) to start treatment. We offer a low-cost vaccination clinic every Saturday from 10am - 2pm and we offer these vaccinations without the cost of an exam.
Dr. Jeffrey Young graduated from the Colorado State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Young believes his humane ethics come from working as an Animal Control Officer during his university training, where he witnessed abuse and neglect of healthy companion animals. He established Planned Pethood Plus, Inc. (PPP) in 1990 as a low-cost spay/neuter clinic and now provides affordable full-service veterinary care.
Exciting things are happening here in San Carlos, Mexico. The Planned Pethood International Training Center is up and running! During this time the center has been used a few times for some spay and neuter training's and is running as a full service veterinary clinic. We are still trying to raise 25,000 dollars to go towards equipment and every single donation that is made will help speed this up.

Let me start by saying I didn't appreciate the Vet calling animal control on wife after she basically explained to the Vet that she didn't have the 400 deposit that was needed to start treatment. So as she proceeded to leave she was threatened by the Vet saying if she doesn't leave the dog with them they would call Animal control. So she left as soon as she arrived home animal control shows up telling her she has to take the dog back to the Vet or give him up. So she goes back upset about the whole ordeal, leaves the dog on 3/3/23.We return Saturday morning trying to get answers about our dog's diagnosis and treatment. We signed papers for the Vet to start treatment. We continue to visit and ask about our dog's illness , no one could tell a straight answer. Eventually he was getting worse, by 3/10/23 our dog was wheezing down to skin and bones yet the Vet asked for more money without telling us what's wrong with our pet. So instead of letting him suffer we agreed to put him asleep to end his suffering. Now I suggest if anyone needs to take their pet to a Vet please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The level of care is extremely terrible they didn't have any heat in the building at all. The staff were complaining so most likely the animals were frezzing. No one should have to suffer that type of negligence and heartbreak from incompetence. They should be investigated by Animal Control!!!!!!!

They must pick and choose who looks good for television? My poor dog needs emergency surgery and they were my only hope. But we were turned away.

I love this place! They take such great care of my cat. I find most vet offices to be low key traumatizing due to the excessive cost. The pricing here is fair and they don't push unnecessary charges on you like almost every other vet. So thankful for everyone here especially Dr Jeff for caring about the public so much

Adopted my special needs dog from planned pethood. Everyone who works their is wonderful and, even though it can take a while to get in (unless it's emergent), it is worth the wait! They truly love all animals and believe that EVERYONE should be able to afford to take proper care of their furry, feathered or shelled family member. Plus, I completely support their rules around spaying and neutering!

I did not expect them having a few week old puppies. That was a great surprise. I feel in love with these siblings immediately. The workers were nice, let me hold the puppies, and suggested to fill out the form if I'd like to adopt some of the puppies. I went online, did fill up the form but unfortunately haven't heard back from anyone till now. It's been few weeks. Too bad.

I'm giving the people that run the store 1 star. A girl named Shanie I believe and another middle aged woman. I noticed there were puppies there about 2 months ago. The woman there was very unfriendly and said "can I help you" in not a nice way. She did not tell me that they were up for adoption and when I asked if they were, she was very curt and said I could apply online.

I checked back a couple weeks later and the girl Shanie asked if I applied online I said yes, could you check? She was very put out and rude to me. I certainly wasn't offered to hold any of them like I see a on a previous post a woman was. I wonder why I wasn't offered to hold one of them? So I was in the area last Friday and I went in the store and was told in not a nice way again "they all were adopted out".

I wasn't informed of another place to find a dog or a rescue. Nothing. Nothing but rudeness. With so many animals needing homes, that would have been appreciated. Planned Pethood you can do better. Very disappointed by my treatment from those ladies.

They are an excellent clinic but, it's difficult to get an appointment and it's difficult to get anyone to answer the phone if at all and it takes a long time to get a callback. There prices are very reasonable. But their volume of business is so high that they are overwhelmed. If you can wait for your pet care, then it might be worth while trying to make an appointment with them. If you have an emergency, forget it! You'll definitely have to go somewhere else. But, their medical staff is talented and caring once you get in.

Been going here since 2003,w ay before they were on tv. My favorite vet is Dr. Baier, although I'm sure that the others are good too. But Dr. Baier is patient and will take the time to explain everything that you need to know about your dogs health. Also love the ladies working in the store, Susan and. Shani. Both are knowledgeable and they do a wonderful job taking care of the dogs and cats that are available for adoption.

Their care for your pets is absolutely superior to any other clinic. They saved my dog nephew's life, when another "well known" clinic wanted to kill him. I'll forever be grateful for the staff and Veterinarians at Planned Pethood. On a side note, its sometimes difficult to reach an actual person. I assume its just because they are busy seeing our pet kids. Thank you Planned Pethood!

The line was long but the service was great! Very clean waiting room and exam rooms, the receptionist and staff was all so friendly and very kind to the individual pets and fur parents! I'd highly recommend Planned Parenthood and the price was very affordable for 2 dogs with a total balance of $63.00.

Highly recommend this clinic the vets and their staff are super sweet and friendly they actually care about your pets. My puppy broke her leg and everywhere I took her they said her leg was going to cost 6k+ to fix or it would be cheaper to amputate! She was not even a year old! I was so blessed to come across this clinic as soon as I took her in they made it a priority to get her in and get her fixed despite how busy they are and the best part of all is that they are affordable AND offer you many options to be able to take care of your fur babies I will forever be thankful for Dr.jeff and his wife who was the vet that worked on my little Daisie and to all the staff at Planned pethood for saving my babies leg thank you so much! Keep up all the amazing work you all do I will continue to take my pets here for anything they need and always recommend my friends and family to your clinic! :

My dog was hospitalized by them for parvo. He was very sick. If you do not consider your pet as a part of your family, this is the place for you! If your pet has to stay with them for anything, you will never know how they are doing. The only thing you get when you call anytime is a voicemail. And sometimes maybe they will call you back. Each person you talk to in the office will have a different procedure and a different price to tell you to pay.

Even if you have the original price given in writing, they will explain that is wrong and they have no idea of how the other person came up with that price and of course the new price tag is more! If you go to this clinic, good luck. It would be better to take your pet up the hill and try to get them taken care of through a slot machine!

I brought my 4 month old French bulldog to get spayed. First, they did not ever inform me that 4 months might be a little young for French Bulldogs since they are a high risk dog. While I was filling out paperwork, the receptionist put a star on the "decline blood work" and told me to initial there because it wouldn't matter because my dog was so young anyway.

Well I drop my baby off and a few hours later, i get a call saying my dog died on the table. I ask, "how did this happen" and the only answers I got were "I don't know", "it happens", "it happens all the time" and "it happens to humans all the time." There was zero medical reasons to why this could have happened.there was also ZERO compassion from Melody and the dr.

From doing research it turns out they do not have the appropriate knowledge or equipment/medications for a high risk dog and that is the reason she died. I have also continued to be harrassed and called a "spoiled little child" by "Dr." Jeff Young. He has been nothing but cruel in this entire situation. I wish I would have never taken her to this horrid place.

I must start with --I love this clinic for all they do for so many lost animals. But my experience is horrible. I took my old cat in who had an eye tumor. They took him in immediately. When I was called to finally pick him up they just handed me my cat with NO meds, NO instructions, NO paperwork at all. he had his eye tumor,& his eye, all removed, & no pain meds or instructions. Wow!

So I waited to speak with a front desk receptionist. She had no idea at all. It was around 4-5pm. Then I said I must have "some" information. She called for a doctor. Well.. the reptile doctor came out and was so so mean & abusive to her--& said my cat was dying & had cancer, threw the papers on the counter & left. OMG..Horrid. Do not go here unless u really have no money. My cat died a week later. These people are not what you see on TV. SO SO upset. PLEASE BEWARE.*****************************************

There is no question that Dr. Jeffrey Young has good intentions with his programs to reduce pet overpopulation, but quality appears to have taken a back seat to quantity when it comes to spaying and neutering animals. He may be a good surgeon but, in my opinion, he cuts important corners to achieve the high numbers. I worry that such shortcuts could potentially compromise the overall health of the animal.

To me, good surgery begins with a thorough prep, including brief exam, and goes all the way through full recovery. Dr. Young is also very arrogant with a superiority complex that won't quit. I personally would not take my animal to him.

I've been to see Dr Grossman twice and while I thought she was fine, the front desk staff was always snotty and unhelpful. The girls at the front desk are under the misguided conception that they have no competition and they are the least expensive clinic. These are not just untrue statements, but I would gladly pay more to not be treated in such a rude manner.

After asking around the neighborhood I discovered that the owner, Dr. Jeff Young, has his family working at the front desk and they have a horrible reputation for being snotty and rude. I have since heard many other negative comments about this clinic and Jeff Young. In addition, they do not have concern for your animals welfare and do not care about giving pets the care they deserve.
