Eagle Veterinary Hospital Our hospital has come a long way since 1996! We couldn't have done it without the support of our wonderful patients and clients, and we look forward to continuing to provide top-quality care for the communities of San Antonio and beyond. He renamed it Eagle Veterinary Hospital due to the increased services he immediately offered and planned for the future.

He has since grown his practice into a cornerstone of Olmos Park and is still very active in the Community. After purchasing the practice Dr. Kirlin started planning for a new hospital that would be both less strain on the environment and have all the things that in his eyes had been missing in veterinary clinics.
Services
Dr. Kenneth Kirlin came to San Antonio in 1983 after graduating from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His passion for veterinary medicine stems from the pleasure he receives every time he helps his clients' pets recover from an illness or injury. Seeing a dog wagging its tail or the cat that wants to be petted after their recovery brings Dr. Kirlin personal as well as professional satisfaction.
Eagle Veterinary Hospital is proud to be a full-service animal hospital. We offer treatment and hospitalization for many chronic and acute illnesses such as diabetes, Cushing's disease, pancreatitis, toxicity, thyroid, and heart disease, to name a few. We also handle many emergency and critical care cases.
We know you have many choices when selecting a San Antonio veterinarian, and we're thankful that you've chosen us and left us with your kind words. We're happy that you've decided to join the Eagle Veterinary Hospital family. Your kind words and feedback help us continue to provide over-the-top service to you and your pet.
Often when dogs bite, they shake their head while biting down. This pulls the skin away from the underlying muscle leaving a large pocket under what appears to be just a small puncture wound. These wounds need immediate medical care from your veterinarian. To minimize tissue damage, apply a padded pressure bandage or a folded clean towel.

Took a kitten (who I found on the highway) to eagle vet and the staff was prompt, courteous, and friendly. They typed a sheet of what tests they wanted to run, and ran everything by me before proceeding with anything. Very transparent and honest. I am happy to have found a vet close by that I can trust! Thank you guys so much!

The front desk staff at Eagle Vet have been generally courteous and helpful, and whenever I've brought my pets in, the visits have gone fine. However, I'm leaving a less-than-stellar review because I've had a ton of trouble getting a simple copy of a prescription for my pet's food from this vet. More than 3 times I've tried to order a prescription food online for my cat.

Each time, Eagle Vet has claimed the request for the prescription/authorization never came through. Okay, that's possibly true, since I don't know how Chewy operates with these kinds of requests. However, each time I've called (dozens of times) and requested a copy of the prescription be sent directly to me so I could upload the authorization, I've gotten promises that the vet will review and sign and then I don't hear back. I've had to push them so many times to send a simple prescription. Because of this issue, I'm no longer using them for veterinary care services.

Eagle Vet is the best. Dr. Kirlin has saved the lives of two of our pets. A recent visit for my dog's limp resulted him recommending a joint supplement that literally worked wonders. They also do the best nail clipping in town.

Great experience with my new puppy Jimmy. Everyone from the techs to the vet were extremely nice and professional. The vet and assistant both took their time explain everything about my pups health and wellness. Highly recommend this place!

This is a wonderful vet. I moved miles away and still make the trip because I appreciate this vet so much. Don't change!

I don't think I would have the space to write of all the help we've had with Reilly over the last 7 years. Heartworms, cancer treatment, emergency bowel obstruction, stick lodged in his palette, etc. You can see from the first day we brought him home to during and post chemo, Reilly has thrived under Eagle Vet's care!

Took my dog for a check up, she was running and jumping the day before, I get home from work after she went to the doctor and she doesn't get out of her bed, I pick her up and she starts moaning and when I put her down she begins to walk with a limp. She will not eat. I'm terrified. I'm unsure what they did to my dog but she is definitely not the same as she was this morning. I have sent emails and left voicemails but the Vet is now closed and since they do not allow owners in due to Covid policy I'm left to wonder what happened to her

I have been taking my dogs to Eagle Vet for 14 years and have always found Dr. Kirlin and his staff compassionate, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to find the best way to solve a problem. Everyone there really loves pets and it shows. I can't compare their prices because I haven't compared them to any other vet, but to me their services go beyond price. I know this review sounds a bit gushy, but when it comes to my dogs, I want the best for them and I feel like I get it at Eagle Vet.
