Veterinary medicine is at a critical moment. We are losing high-quality, knowledgeable, and caring people to other fields. Our team is not immune to the pressures of providing high-quality medical care. The burden felt by our team is exacerbated by inflation and the high cost of living in our area. This increase will go directly to supporting our technical team who has been working very hard to keep your pets healthy. Late arrivals (more than 10 minutes), missed appointments or appointments rescheduled with less than 24-hour notice will be subject to a $75 cancelation fee.

We're proud to provide a wide variety of veterinary medical services for dogs & cats in Williston, VT & surrounding areas! Dr. Amanda LaCroix is a 4th generation Vermonter who grew up in Essex. She attended the University of Vermont and obtained her veterinary degree from Cornell University. Before returning home Amanda worked at a small animal hospital in the Adirondacks.

We've been with River Cove since the mid 80s and seen it grow, change ownership and increase staff and Drs to try to accommodate an ever increasing Client base. All of the Drs and staff are amazing and we've been 100% supportive and so accommodating to us and all of our pets. If you are new in this area and looking for a v-hospital you can rely on and feel like you are in very good hands, please consider contacting River Cove over any other animal hospital in the area.
Like other very popular animal hospitals and current times, other then an emergency, you find an appointment 2 or more weeks out. Just the way it is these days, but, you will have a staff and Doctors who truly care and can address your pet's issues so well and to your satisfaction!

They have been taking care of my geriatric dogs for the last 2 years. Dr. Bartels always takes time to explain what is happening and walk through the pros and cons of different treatments. It does seem a little expensive, but I came from Texas, and was using a vet that was mainly a livestock/equine practice, in a place with a much lower cost of living, so I did have some sticker shock when I first moved here. That said, I am happy with the service they provide. I recommend River Cove to everybody.

The River Cove team is incredibly thoughtful, organized and communicative - it is an outstanding experience. We have been in 7+ times in the last year, and every time, we receive excellent care, help in making decisions (both practical and financial), and thoughtful follow-up calls and texts to ensure our pet is well. We are very grateful for their services.

New to using River Cove Animal Hospital and wasn't disappointed! They were thorough with examining my ill kitty, and their reccomended solution was thankfully the right option. They did come to get my cat from the car 15+ minutes after the scheduled start time (social distanced visits), but they really take their time with all animals so that was alright. Very much looking forward to visiting again for a teeth cleaning for my kitcat and a new vet meeting with my husband's cat.

Such a compassionate staff. They take time to explain everything and listen to you. Always friendly and welcoming. You can truly tell that everyone who works there loves what they do. Very fair in cost and they take time to explain everything to ensure you understand any shot, testing, etc. before they charge you. Thank you for treating our (pet) family like your own!

We are new puppy owners and are absolutely thrilled we chose Dr. English at River Cove as our vet. He has been beyond helpful and attentive as we navigate all that comes with being first time pet owners. His staff is equally great, and I've been very impressed with how they've navigated the limitations and changes caused by the current pandemic. River Cove is the best vet in the Burlington area. They are incredibly service focused and very reliable in all circumstances. I have taken three pets here over time and recently adopted a disabled dog. The team at River Cove did absolutely everything to accommodate the new girl's needs. These are fantastic caring professionals. Wouldn't go anywhere else! They care so much about each animal- simply amazing health care for your best friend.

I appreciate they are open during this time of COVID and making the most of it. They pick up and drop off your pet from your car out front and the Dr calls you while you wait to discuss whatever is needed. It may be a bit unusual but I understand and am thankful they are making it work. They were all friendly and professional.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the people at river cove. I love my dogs, and will accept nothing but the best for them. All the techs are SO good with them, both my high energy Frenchie and my cautious Sheltie. They are ALWAYS there when I need them and take all my questions and messages and never get frustrated. I’ve worked primarily with Dr Zehle and Dr English and can’t put into words the respect and trust i have in their abilities. I’m very grateful for River Cove and would recommend them to anybody.

I have had Dr. Josh Lincoln for a vet for 30 years. He is the absolute best. We just had a serious emergency situation with our dog. Dr. Lincoln was out of town and Dr. English stepped in. We couldn't be happier with the care our dogs have had over the years. I would NEVER bring my dog to anyone but River Cove. We travel over an hour to get there and it's more than worth the trip.
