Services
Dr. Don Sloat remembers bringing home many injured or orphaned wild animals to nurse them back to health while growing up. Whenever someone asked him what he wanted to be when he got older, he had his answer ready: an animal doctor. For Dr. Sloat, that passion simply never quit-he always knew that he wanted to help pets as a veterinarian!
When your pet gets sick or hurt, you want a partner you can trust. The dedicated team at Community Animal Hospital would be honored to fulfill that role. Our extensive list of services has been developed with the goal of helping each patient enjoy as many happy, healthy years as possible. Seeing your loved one thrive is always our highest priority.
We want to hear from you! Our goal is to consistently deliver the best available patient care and exceptional client service, and your valuable feedback helps us to both achieve that goal and to communicate the value of our services to others. Please also consider leaving feedback about your experience here so that others may learn more about the quality of our care.
As loving pet parents, we want our animal companions by our side for as many years as possible. At Community Animal Hospital, we believe the best way to ensure this happens is by making a commitment to their ongoing wellness. By bringing your pet in for regular checkups, you'll help protect him or her from many of the common ailments that can affect companion animals. You'll also give us the opportunity to identify and address potential health problems early, before they have chance to develop and worsen.

Community' animal hospital keep my pets healthy. If there is a concern or semi emergency, they will work to get my pets in. Dr, Sloat has called after hours with results of tests. We have been going there for over 17 years.

I have been going here for over 10 years, having brought 2 different dogs and six cats. My beloved pets have always gotten the best care there, even at the end of life. Dr Sloat is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met, he exudes kindness and gentleness. When my pitbull, Satara got liver cancer, and was beginning to suffer with liver failure, he came to my home to euthanize her in a comfortable, familiar environment (that was over 10 years ago, so I don't know if he still is able to do that.) Dr Russo-Moon has been managing my little Jack Russell's diabetes over the past 3-4 months and they have been great with having the special diet, insulin and needles available.

This is a great place and I recommend it without reservation. 2022- I lost my Jack Russell and had to euthanize a cat, and once again, they were so lovely. They sent condolence cards. Now I'm bringing my two huskies there, and they fit us in to the schedule so I was able to bring them both in. Awesome care, as usual!

Hello. My 11 month old puppy was neutered on Tuesday. They were very nice, let me know how everything was and even called two days later to see how he was doing and answered any questions I had. Thank you for caring for my pet

Community Animal Hospital is always there for my little guy when we need them. We like the Doctors and the staff is always helpful. I'm glad that I found someone who cares about my little one especially now that he is 13 years old with health problems. If you need someone who will care this is the place to go.

I spoke with Amanda when I called to make an appointment for a baby kitten that didnt have use of his back legs. She was kind, compassionate and personable. Though she couldn't fit me in the regular schedule for 5 days. I was put on the emergency call list and was called by noon the following day. This was THE ONLY vet's office that listened and responded with concern!

I am so grateful to have had Community Animal Hospital recommended to us. We had been taking our pets to another vet for over 7 years. Our 12 yr old dachshund mix, had been sick for over 3 weeks with a high fever (104.7) and difficulty using her rear legs. We spent over $3000, at the other vet without answers. We believed she was dying. It was heartbreaking.

I asked for our records and called The Community Animal Hospital. At the CAH we were met with such warmth and kindness. And most importantly the Dr. knew what was wrong with Maggie. She had a severe bladder infection and Lyme. They took such good care of us and now a month later, Maggie is happy, healthy, and running around. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We are so grateful.

The staff really make this place amazing. I love bringing my Corgi pup here and I'd recommend to anyone who wants to feel in good hands. If you have a new pup, ask about the puppy payment plan for affordable vaccines etc your fur baby needs in those first few crucial months.

So taking the time to create a relationship with your vet is critical. Getting to know Dr Sloat and his staff have proven to be a great experience through all the ups and sometimes downs. Running a St Bernard Rescue has allowed me the opportunity, More Than I wanted, to get to know him a bit more personally and the more I am there, the more I like him. Moved all Saint care to his office and what a great choice. Dr Sloat does everything he can to ensure the quality of pet care.

One of the best. Probably because he is an Ohio State Alumni!;- Had a couple rough situations and appreciate the level of his care and concern to make sure all is good! Thank you all! Go Bucks! Dr Sloat takes the time time to know the pets. I was out of town and when Buddy got sick, he knew exactly what I would do to ensure he gets healthy and that's exactly what the team did. Buddies well being is what he ensures. Thank you so much!

I would give this facility more stars if it weren't for Dr. Russo- Moon. This is the first time I've ever seen this dr and I will request to never see her again. I took a newborn puppy in there after we got her for a check-up and Dr. Russon-Moon was just very negative about our visit. She must have referenced "breeder dogs" my dog was not from a breeder.

But I felt like she treated me differently because of this. As this is her business shouldn't all pets be treated equally with love and compassion not matter where they came from. I did not feel this way when I left. instead I left in tears and worry for my new pup. Just very disappointed. However I do love Dr. Sloat

I have been taking my animals to Community Care Animal Hospital for quite a few years now. I am so pleased with the staff and all of their professionalism. From the desk to the vets everyone is so kind and caring. It is important to all staff that you have had as pleasant an experience as possible. One of the most caring and compassionate things they do is to light a candle in the office when someone one is loading one of their loved pets.

This candle is to signify to other people to please try and be respectful towards this process. I know pricing is always an issue but I must say I feel they are and always have been very reasonable. To my family are pets are family. And having Community Animal Hospital taking care of our family members has been a blessing. Thank you Dr. Slot & Dr. Russo. You and all of your staff have been wonderful.

I initially came to this vet because of all the positive reviews I've read, but in the end I just wasn't overly impressed with how we were treated. Not a horrible vet, but also not the best--just average. The very first thing you'll notice upon entering is the dated building. Though it is dated, the next thing you'll notice is how kind the receptionists are.

The one thing that we brought our dog in for was his allergies. He had scratched himself open. In short, we were taken back and the vet (Dr. Sloat) came in, we told him about his itching and the wound. He gave him a once over, and gave him an injection to help with the itching, and gave us a prescription for a weeks worth of steroids. Dr. Sloat wasn't overly personable, just sort of asked what was going on and went to work.

Once this was done, he started to leave to room and I asked him again about the wound. He came back, looked at it, shaved the hair, and that was it. The vet techs came in and explained the meds, and that was that. The prices were fair, but I just wasn't impressed enough to not continue to look around for something better for my pets. Give them a try, and decide for yourself :-)

Miss Twinkle developed diabetes and I had to make that decision many pets owners go through. do I treat the condition, can I with with current restrictions or do I end her life before it gets ugly? Blood work wasn't horribly expensive to diagnose the problem under 150. and the staff was understanding not pushing me to treat by making me feel guilty. With the responsibilities on my plate it would have been more of a strain on my already maxed out life. RiP pretty Miss Twinkle.

Took our cat previously to another veterinarian for a problem that went unresolved. Turned out it was blocked anal glands, which was resolved quickly here and led to an immediate improvement in our pet's quality of life. Then, a few weeks later on a checkup they discovered she had diabetes and was able to get it under control expediently. We are very impressed with Community and won't be going anywhere else.

They don't even deserve one star. Would not give me an appointment for a sick cat because I am a new client. Told me I would have to wait a week. I thought this place was a community animal hospital?
