In my experiences with them, they have been rude and unhelpful. The first time I went, I had my cat in a carrier out on the sidewalk. One of the employees was outside on the sidewalk talking to someone in a car and didn't acknowledge that I was even there for over 15 minutes, and from what I could hear, they were socializing, not talking about a pet.
The second time I contacted them, I needed to put my cat to sleep because she had gotten to the point where she was suffering (she had cancer). They couldn't take her because the vet had been sick and they didn't want to "push her". She couldn't take care of one more pet who was in a bad way. And they informed me that they were not an emergency vet.
The first time I went there, I was told that I had to wait an extra long time (I had an appointment) because of a pet emergency. So I don't know if they do emergency care or not. The second time there, they said I would have to wait over two weeks to have my cat cared for. I will not ever go back there.

I've trusted Dr. Jaimes with every one of my fur babies since she about the same time ago m she opened her practice. They do their best to schedule in order, but take eme6rgencies if needed. Abby is the best and most friendly assistant along with Amanda. During and after the worst of covid, I've seen negative reviews stating they were rude, did unnecessary procedures to make money, overcharged, etc.
I don't believe much of what I read. I've been a customer for @15 yrs and would have seen some neg signs of any of this going on. I think they became short staffed with the virus. I don't appreciate customers accusing Dr. Jaimes possibly performing more expensive or un necessary procedures for profit. That has never been how she run her business since I've taken my pets there.
I trust her with every since pretty love of my life. And she's never shown anything but love and empathy to me and the fur babies. She just might take a while because she's such a wonderful doctor that her practice grows faster than she can keep up! ABBY IS THE BEST!

Front lady was very rude about masks. She asked me to wear a mask and offered one which I accepted it as I don't own a mask myself for personal belief as it deprives us from getting proper airflow to the brain and its very toxic to breath in your CO2. Studies also show it weakens the immune system. Anyways I'm like sure watever it's their stupid rule I guess I had to use it since I needed the service.
But my problem was that they wanted to mask my children which they are 4 years and younger. This is not acceptable. I'm 99% they are vaccinated. They are already brainwash about thinking breathing fresh air is dangerous. Very dumb rule if you ask me. Wanting to muzzle my kids. I left.

I'm sure it's a great establishment. I give it a 2 star just because the girl on the phone was so nice. She was doing her job. It's the management. So I booked a spay. I was not explained the 50.00 deposit. I called back asked if I cancelled they said yes they would refund if some 48 prior to appt. Well I cancelled plenty of time. Actually the next day I booked.
I was told I'd get a check. Then got voicemail that unfortunately I need to come into office to get a refund. So I work all day and have to drive in to south of town. I was told the manager was the only person able to do refunds. They wanted to know when I'd arrive since the manager is in and out. I told them about 5:30pm. I arrived at 5:35.
I called since door was locked. Guess who came out the same girl who took my call! Poor management! The manager should have come out. Also, bad idea to make people come back in for a refund. Especially since they are still doing curbside for pets. Why on earth did I need to come back with my card? I've worked in customer service for physicians. This was bad practice. I never made a timer come in for a refund unless it was an item.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I called this morning to see if I could have a vet examine my cat. The receptionist didn't allow me to finish my sentenc; she was quick to respond with they are not seeing any patients due to them having a Halloween party. I was shocked they would find a party more important than patients. They should really take off Animal Hospital from their business name.
I then found Alamo Cat and Dog Hospital. They listen to me explain how my cat has not been eating or drinking water for a few days now. He is only two years old, is not walking, and is urinating where he lays. They immediately accepted my cat for examination. Highly recommend Alamo Cat and Dog Hospital, dont waste your time at 4 paws!

We've been coming to Dr. J's office for the past year and a half and couldn't be happier. Her and her staff are nothing short of amazing. Even when we moved from the south side of San Antonio to the northwest area, we kept 4 Paws as our primary vet's office. What really impresses me about Dr. Jamiez is her dedication to not only the animals, but to her practice.
There have been times where I've gotten a call from her late at night or on her off day and she was following up on our pets. She's always dealing with a pet emergency, and yes that may delay/postpone our appointment times, but it shows her priorities lie with the health and safety of the animals first and foremost. Besides the overall personality of this vet's office, another impressive aspect is their prices.
When you compare them to other vet's offices in San Antonio, they have unbelievably affordable prices. I've commented about this to one of the vet techs, and she responded that since a lot of 4 Paws pet owners come from low income background, Dr. J does everything she can to ensure her clients and their pets have access to affordable care.

Vet Jaimez and her techs really care about the animals here. They may be running behind but it's because they are always involved with a last minute emergency and are willing to help any pet, any time. Even though we moved across town recently, we kept 4paws as our primary vet location because of their compassionate service.

With covid protocols there was a sense that I had lost control over accepting what exactly was being performed and the cost of services. I have three dogs and the expense was shocking and unexpected. I gladly paid, but I had one animal with an issue that might have altered my decision to treat all three animals equally. The issue was the main problem we were hoping to deal with.
The dog has had to deal with this issue until we are able to raise funds to have proper medical treatment performed, which would have costed about the same as treating all three for all basic services. I understand that the servies needed to be performed, and again was glad they were able to treat and prescribe basic services. These are all tough calls, but some discussion in person and not over the phone after waiting outside for a couple of hours caused a miscommunication and lack of understanding of the available treat ment options.

First time doggie owner & I couldn't be more thankful for the staff & the way they care for my fur baby. They really go above and beyond to make sure your fur babies are taken care of. Staff stayed after hours to make sure my baby was feeling better. They keep you updated through the entire process. Thank you 4 paws!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Probably the worst vet experience we have ever had. Fill out their paperwork, after answering the same questions on the phone to make the initial appointment (for dental visit she had a loose tooth). Get to the clinic am immediately asked if she's on heart worm med and if she eats their brand of dog food. Dog is on heartworm meds has been since we have had her for the last 8 years, we also feed her a very expensive holistic food from pet smart. Told them this on the phone, on the paper I filled out, to the receptionist, to the nurse, to the doc, and yet again to who ever the other lady was that came in the exam room.
I was there for a dental visit that is all. Was repeatedly asked about having her spayed ( which she is) about their heartworm meds and their brand of dog food. I felt like I was in a high pressure sales meeting for these products, than I was at a vets office for a loose tooth. They even went so far as to try and get my dogs medical records from her regular vet to try and up-sell me something else.
We ended up just walking out of the exam room and paying the $30 for the "exam" they preformed. If you want to sit through sales pitch after sales pitch for their heartworm medication( after repeatedly telling them she's on one) and dog food brand then by all means go pay them $30 to do it. If you want your fur baby taken care of go somewhere else.

I use to really like this place when it had the other vet working with dr.jamiez but now I've only seen her, and it almost seems as if something's wrong like she's highly uneducated, and that scares me when my pets lifes are in her hands, I'm not sure if other people have this experience I haven't read the other reviews yet, but I will after posting this.
I just had to say something and warn people to maybe get a second opinion on things and honestly look for a better vet because I can't trust this place anymore, Not with her working there.

This last Saturday I had to say goodbye to one of my beloved doggies of 16 Years. She was very old frail and just in pain. To have to make that decision was so hard but I will say the staff at 4 paws was amazing. The vet was gentle and made sure we were as ready as we could be and made sure my flower was as comfortable as she could be and the vet tech (I didn't get her name and I wish I did!) she was hands down amazing she held my doggie in her arms and comforted her with soothing words and was petting her til the end.it made the the whole experience just a tad bit easier and at the end of it all they made us a paw impression and boxed it nicely with a lovely poem. Thank you 4 paws for doing ur very best to make this difficult time as easy as you possibly could!

I had recently taken my little dog; Chiweenie in because he was vomiting. Even though the wait was long; they had said they had 2 emergencies come in before my scheduled appointment. I could understand, I did speak with one of the owners and yes it was an emergency involving her puppy and it would need a blood transfusion. There are plenty of fun things to look at and do while you wait.
I went and visited with two pretty cats who were in a big cage and checked out the grooming side; where they were offering blueberry facials for $5 - WOW! I also bought Chiweenie some greenies to chew on while we waited. The hospital is always clean and well kept and there are always some kind of festive decorations to make you smile -like the Patriotic white Christmas tree that was so beautifully decorated with red, white and blue bows and stars( see pic). The staff and main Vet are nice and they even offered me refreshments while I waited to be seen. Chiweenie is doing great and back to his normal happy self.

I recently boarded my dog for a few days at 4 Paws Animal Hospital. I was a little skeptical because in the past had not heard good things about this place. However, I had no issues. They took good care of her, they were really nice and answered my questions when I called to check up on her and before I went to pick her up, they gave her a complimentary bath!
The price was also very reasonable even though she had to get three shots prior to being boarded. There were also no issues as far as getting my dog's things back, for example her leash, blanket, toy, and food. I recommend this place and I would comfortably leave my dog again knowing she's in good hands.

I don't want to give them a terrible review. BUT i've never had a pleasant experience. maybe it's just me but i do appreciate good service and everytime i've walked into the clinic i've had to wait to be helped. which isn't the problem. however i feel even if the receptionist is on the phone they see that i am there and a simple acknowledgment would go very far. i don't know if she was talking to a client or a friend.
Beyond that My mother always goes to this clinic because they are the only nearest one. She will no longer go there because recently she brought in two stray kittens. She was told the wrong dosage amount and as a result the kittens died terrible convulsive deaths. those are mistakes that should never happen. I've never liked this place and i am glad my mother will no longer take her pets there.

I will always be grateful to Dr. Jamiez for being the only vet to have gone through the work to ensure my previous dog was properly diagnosed. Here they are effective and caring. Your loved one will be kindly treated. I will drive however far I need to to bring mine here. They even have a nice pet grooming & shop in the same place Metropawlitan.
