Southeast Animal Hospital and Dr. Homer have been a part of the community since 1990. We have worked hard to combine the best in surgery, grooming, boarding, preventive medicine and pet owner education services in one convenient location.

Services
We are very proud of our new state-of-the-art hospital. In a single unique facility designed with your pet in mind, we have compiled the very best treatment, surgery, grooming, boarding and pet owner education services available. This area, designated for the dogs to romp around, extends from the front of the hospital to the end of the mini storage facility. Twice a day, we take each boarding dog out for a stroll. There are several trees that will eventually provide ample shade for those hot summer days.
Radiographs and blood work help us diagnose so many things that we can not see going on inside your pet's body. Think your dog may have eaten that wedding ring you are missing? Digital radiography produces images within minutes and gives us the capability to electronically transfer them to referral hospitals or specialists within seconds.
We offer a comprehensive wellness package for adult dogs and puppies over 6 months of age. While we recommend these services be done once a year for all dogs, your pet's package will be catered to his/her specific needs. For high risk dogs we also have bordetella (kennel cough) and canine influenza vaccines available.
Not many animal hospitals in San Antonio will examine and treat ferrets, guinea pigs, and rabbits. For these species we provide basic services including: teeth trimming for your rabbit, wellness and sick patient care, bathing and nail trims for rabbits and guinea pigs. Ferret distemper vaccine, ferret rabies vaccine and Suprelorin F injections for adrenal disease are part of the routine wellness care we provide for ferrets.

I brought my cat in to SEAH in a panic when she was sick one morning and was seen within 15 minutes of walking in. Dr. Homer walked me through his thought process of her diagnosis and even recommended that I spend LESS money as blood testing was deemed unnecessary (she basically had hair build up in her digestive tract). His honesty, patience, and willingness to clue me in meant a lot to me. Will absolutely be using SEAH as our vet in the future.

I'm a little upset. I'm a repeat customer for almost 2 years now. The front desk is friendly and Dr. Homer (he's ok, pros and cons) is acceptable. Yesterday I went in 15 minutes early to my appointment. They made me wait 90 minutes. I ended up having to leave, but what else irked me was that Dr. Homer wasn't even in the building. The backup vet was.
I'm not a fan of hers, she came off as rude and did not listen to me last time I saw her (my dog has continuous skin problems that nobody here can really help me with) so I really needed continuity in seeing Dr. Homer for further troubleshooting. I feel like the vet office really needs to tell me ahead of time if the vet I pay to see isn't there. And also not make me sit for almost 2 hours past when they were supposed to see me.

Dr. Homer has always given good treatment for my pets. Unfortunately, last week's treatment to remedy my cat's dermatitis (a steroid shot) did not work and she has kept up the scratching for a week since. I paid $100 for that shot and two hours of wait time. Now the office tells me I'll need to go seek vet care someplace else until June 9 when the Doc gets back.
So I'm left to frantically find another vet, with an available opening and pay again $$$ in an attempt to heal my pet. Her continued agony and the waste of my $100 is not sitting too well.

The staff are great. Everyone treated both my pups with care and the doctor is terrific. Went in for a UTI with my oldest dog and got it sorted out and treated promptly. Decided to bring in the new puppy for vaccines since I had a good experience and their packages are very affordable. You can tell they really care about your pets health.

This place is awesome! The vet tech was so super nice, calm, patient, helpful and caring! And the vet, Dr. Homer is the absolute BEST! He explained things to us, was super patient with our puppy, was so gentle and he is so wise. We enjoyed meeting him, speaking with him, and listening to his stories! We have now scheduled both of our doggies to go there! Highly recommend!

I have no issues with Southeast Animal Hospital. I recently boarded my dog and they told me that she was scared since this was her first time being away from me. However, when I went to pick her up, she had an attitude issue. When they were walking her out, I was calling her. She just ignored me. I kept calling her and still ignored me. I guess it was payback. She finally came to me.

My pet was taken in specifically because she couldn't open up both of her eyes. She was running into walls. Dr. Homer didn't listen to me concerning my pets needs at the time of visit!. He treated her for something differently. Not giving her treatment for her eyes closed shut! He didn't even check her eyes! I was expecting to leave his office with. some type of eye drops or medication for my pet.
She was suffering for days. I took her to get a second opinion at another clinic and these other veterinarian doctors were amazing and were very verbal in my pets needs. They performed all test on her eyes. Which should of been done the first visit. This could of been avoided my pet was suffering corneal abrasions. I will never recommend anyones pet to this clinic. Be aware! They don't communicate very well. Im a big believer in honesty and they didn't show this here they only cared about my money!

This vet office may accept exotics, but does not have the proper experience to care for exotic animals. We took my guinea pig syrup a brown big guinea pig to them when he had stomach issues. The women at the counter thought he was adorable, but he was limp and weak as can be. The doctor told us to give him Gas-x an over the counter medicine and he would be fine, no scans were done no further queries or offers of them.
After hours of him becoming weaker we took him to another animal hospital where they did scans on him to find his digestive system was at a stand still. He passed that night.

I just want to come on here & say how Great this place is. My willow was so well taken care of in his last months of life. The staff were amazing. They were kind & helped me for they knew I was going through such a difficult time. I miss my willow more than anything, but I know that this team did everything they could to help him. And I just want to thank them for everything, I didn't say it enough. They're kind, helpful & semi-affordable. Highly recommend
