Leon Valley Veterinary Hospital

I came here seeking treatment for my cat after I had a very unpleasant experience with Covenant Care Animal Hospital. Leon Valley Veterinary was able to see me quickly, allowed me into the exam room, answered all of my questions, and gave me reasonable quotes for the procedures my baby needs done. If you want compassionate and reasonably priced care come here!

We have taken a multitude of pets to see Dr. Meier and they always got the best care. He and his wonderful staff are very kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable as well.

Dr. Meier and his staff have taken care of my Havenese for three years, since he was a puppy. I have used their boarding services as well. This office is friendly, and provides good care for a good price! I am very happy with their services.

They do the job they are supposed to. Staff were all friendly enough, but not overbearing or trying too hard. Very relaxed vet clinic. They also sell eggs I guess? I haven't bought any but they have a sign and I've seen people come in just to purchase eggs, so that's sort of random and interesting. If I used eggs more I'd try em lol. Only took a star off because after our last visit my dog had a flea on him and I had a flea on my neck.

Just know it is a very small waiting room area (also no chairs at the moment) so if another dog has fleas, they might get on you. It's another reason flea meds are so important. But this was minor, overall a good vet clinic.

Fist star goes to the receptionist when I set up the appointment, the second goes to the nice clean building. The rest just went bad. My cat is missing a portion of hair in the spine and belly. I was told that it could be ringworn and that he needed to be isolated until he gets the results from a PCR test. I paid more for the test than for the visit, and was told to isolate the cat until I get a call back from them on Monday. (I took him on Thursday) Monday came, and no call back or email, so I called them before they closed.

They said they couldn't find my file but that they would call me shortly. No call back on Monday. I tried calling Tuesday and no response. I called again on Wednesday. Rep that answered sounded like he didn't care about what was going on. I was placed on hold, then transferred, then placed on hold again and then transferred again to the first person that answered.

I was finally told that everything came back negative and he was about to hung up until I asked what was next! If its negative to ringworm, then what is it? Rep said he didn't know, and that the doctor was going to call me back. I probably won't get a call back. In short, my cat is sick. I took him to Leon Vally vet hospital, they took my money, after taking my money the service was horrible and my cat is the same as it was before taking him there. Other people have told me that for ringworm you don't even need a PCR test.

5 stars isnt enough! Though my furr baby was a patient for many years its just recently i truly acknowledge and appreciate the love and compassion these animals receive at Leon Valley Veterinarian. Dr. Meier took such good care of my sweet girl Sugar who recently passed away. He was there for her every step of the way and treated her as if she were his own.

I'm so thankful to have had such a compassionate and caring Dr. For my girl and have no doubts that my sweet boy will be very well taken care of at this office as well. Thank Dr. Meier and Christian for everything, my family and I are forever grateful.

I will not be able to say enough nice things about this establishment. We had spent all of Monday (7 hours) at an emergency room with our dog, Bella, only to be turned away because he emergency, while still an emergency, was "not that serious". From the moment we called to make an appointment, I instantly felt welcomed. The receptionists were helpful over the phone giving us tips and ideas and recommendations to help Bella.

We were able to get an appointment the following day and the appointment itself could not have gone better. Short of Dr. Meier coming home with us to help Bella, he did everything possible. We were seen immediately. Some establishments set appointments and then see you an hour later but not here. We were seen right on time. It was perfect. Dr. Meier examined Bella twice just to be sure of his findings and demonstrated so much professionalism.

He clearly showed how much he cared for his patients by taking the time to talk to us and be very detailed in his explanations. I could go on and on about how great he was and how wonderful all of his staff were. We have found our go to doctor for out pets. There is no question about it. If you need your pets health examined, this is THE place to go. Gig em'!

Called the day before to get an appointment asap and had one scheduled for 8:30am the next day! As soon as we walked in for our appointment my dog was weighed and put in a room bc they were aware of my situation and knew the condition of my GSD. Dr. Edmund came in and examined my girl not once but twice just to be thorough. We were in and out with medication in hand and more Information than we had gotten from anywhere else.

The front desk girls were so attentive and had so much compassion for us. I felt so welcomed and have found my primary care vet for our pups! Thank you so much Leon Valley Veterinary Hospital and staff!

Went yesterday on 1/10/22, and met the staff and Dr. E. Meier. Due to a confusion, dr was very polite to clarify the appointment confusion. He evaluated my female chihuahua who was estimated to be 3 years of age from ACS, but turns out she is between 7 and 9 years instead. He was very professional and courteous with me on my 1st visit and gave me some good advice about what I could give her that would be over the counter for her joint pain and allergies. And not only that gave me a referral to a ophthalmologist for my pet. Would highly recommend this vet but his hours changed and no longer works on Saturdays.

Great service and friendly staff. The doctor was very compassionate for my mother's dog. They even accommodated mean because I was running late.

When I moved here I took my dog in for a check up and I have been impressed ever since. Dr Meier and his staff are attentive, kind, and only interested in what is best for your pet. The prices are extremely reasonable and same week appointments are usually available. As long as I live here this is where I'll take my dog Misty.

I've been taking my pets to Dr Meier for 20 years. Best Veterinarian in San Antonio. Hands Down. Doesn't rip you off. Explains everything to you. Doesn't rush you. He helped 2 of my dogs cross over to Rainbow Bridge. Very compassionate. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

My beloved dog and i suffered a major car accident. She wouldn't eat nor drink nor do duty for several days. After that she often cried, and she panted all the time. After a few weeks of witnessing her distress, i looked past my own hurts and visited dr. Meier and his attentive staff. He has my dearest best friend now under his good care, and i was in no way price gouged and taken for extended and costly "rides" like my own specialist has done.

I admire his compassion for my dog, his humanity, and his ability to maintain a likewise caring staff. I heartily recommend him to my neighbors and residents of Leon Valley. He is sterling. And kind.

I have alot of faith and trust in Leon Valley Clinic. I took my oldest cat there when she was a kitten 8 yrs ago. Dr. Meier has taken care of her All the way. Now my new addition is a kitten And he is so good with her. His front office cares.

Dr Meir is a excellent veterinarian as I can't express my gratitude for his professionalism and superb experience he fully examined my dog who which was diagnosed with heart failure I came to him for a second opinion which I could not expect that my dog wasn't going to make it he literally sat on the floor with me and explained how I needed to think of my pet and not my self as I couldn't deal with losing him trying to keep him alive and at home was only going to prolong his suffering thank you dr Meir for the time and your recommendation as I needed to face the truth I dearly loved my boy as I am heart broken your staff was wonderful and compassionate I can't express my gratitude for your help thank you

The Dr and staff are very caring. I am very satisfied. The Dr was very helpful in referring me to a specialist to get my Schnauzer's vision restored after developing diabetic cataracts. God bless all veterinarians.
